Absolutely there's a discussion to be had.

Surely you're referring to who is the better player right now, since ultimately that's all that matters.

Who's the better blocker? Sanu.
Who's more durable? Sanu.
Who's bigger and more physical? Sanu.
Who's younger? Sanu.
Who has an additional year on their contract? Sanu.
Who's coming off an achilles tear? Sanders.

All of these variables go into who the better player is/will be, especially when taking a macro, long-term, team building approach.

Sanders is a great player and I have no doubt he would have succeeded here had we traded for him. I'm not convinced that he'd be significantly better here in NE than Sanu will be.

I disagree in return (without the emoji). Neither of those guys have threatened a Pats defense on a consistent basis for the same reason the "deep threat" aspects of the Pats offense isn't reliant upon speed as its foundational component.

Like other aspects of talent, speed has a cost component - especially for WRs. Speed goes up, cost goes up. The question is as a return on investment for the whole player is that cost worth it versus the other talents a WR brings to the table for a team? How about when compared to the overall cost in terms of the position versus constructing the whole team as a percentage?

I mean if you think Dorsett is not somewhat elusive then I am not sure what to call Brandin Cooks. Because Cooks was multiple tiers below Dorsett when it comes to elusiveness.

In most of the WR screens going to Dorsett he made the first man miss.

I think you are conflating the routes he is getting with some kind of judgment about his after catch ability.

It is difficult to do anything after the catch when most of your receptions are throws towards the sideline or require you stretching out.

I am not one of the Dorsett haters but last year Dorsett's YAC avg was 3.1 yards with 2 broken tackles while Cooks' YAC average was 4.3 yards with 4 broken tackles.
