I've read column after column about the game and not one mentions Edelman, who had eight (8) receptions. Doesn't he deserve at least a little mention for that?

Box score New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots - Box Score - August 09, 2012 - ESPN shows only four catches for 36 yards, if it's accurate.

I didn't see the game but I would guess that eight catches would indeed draw a lot of attention especially since the passing game stunk.

Edelman did have a few receptions (it was four catches, not eight by the way) but to me he didn't really stand out in either a positive or negative way. He did lead the Pats in receptions and receiving yards, but there was nothing particularly good or bad other than the 23-yard catch and run on the short pass from Mallett just before the end of the first half. Other than that it was a bunch of three and four yard receptions, and fair catches on punts.

Perhaps what was most noteworthy was how much Edelman was used: he had seven pass targets; only one other player (Britt Davis) had more than three passes thrown his way.
