Until I read the transcript of that interview, I had forgotten about the story about the Dez Bryant tape. When that broke, it was presented as something that was worse than the Ray Rice tape. There was a lot of speculation about the contents of the tape and what it would mean to Bryant's career. The story fizzled out after a little while and nothing came of it. Because Bryant is a high profile player on a marquee team, though, it was treated as a big deal when it first broke, even though there was nothing to it.

If someone is talking about the situation the Patriots are in and claims that no one would make a negative story up about nothing, remind them of this story.
