I understand how some reporters in other cities are going to be homers, but this column is far enough over the top that I can't imagine what this person writes when the Pats actually play the Dolphins. Rather than encourage him by giving the author hits, here's a link to the column in the Providence Journal:

Miami columnist: Jason Taylor rejects overtures of 'villainous' Patriots

A few choice tidbits:

He returned to the Dolphins on Wednesday, a hero who turned down the temptations of more money and grander promises from those villainous New England Patriots ...

The Patriots, for all their proven allegations of cheating and fanciful manipulations of injury reports ...

Bill Belichick called Wichard and also tried to get Taylor's signature on a contract that included many more digits than the one he signed with Miami.

Huh? The Pats offered Taylor a $100 million contract? When did that happen?

Wow; no point in letting facts get in the way of hyperbole. This guy manages to make amateur bloggers writing from mom's basement to appear impartial and professional.

Now you can add the Miami Herald to the list of Heralds I hate.

Armando Salguero is a flaming Miami homer (and probably flaming in other areas as well) and twit of historical proportions. He is very reminiscent of Tony Maz, but MUCH more annoying (if you can imagine). This has been his schtick ever since spygate broke.

he does realize that spying has been going on in football since the '30's and is still going on today. according to **** butkus, the "great" papa bear halas used to "mike-up" the opposing teams lockerroom at soldier field.

The best part of this line, is it doesn't say he tried to get Taylor to sign, he just tried to get Taylor's signature. Makes it sound like he tried to pull some kind of underhanded scheme:

BB: Hey Jason, can I get your autograph!

JT: Um, sure... on what?

BB: Right here... on this program...

JT: This sure is a strange looking program!

BB: Um, uh, well... with the economy we can't afford pictures anymore.

JT: Who should I make it out to?

BB: No one. Just your signature and the date should be fine...

Can he juggle as well with his tongue as he does with his fingers?

Alright, sorry guys. I know. That was just nasty.

Not possible.
