Matt Light to Announce Retirement on Monday
By: Ian Logue

Patriots fans have heard for a while now that Matt Light may have been planning on hanging up his cleats for good, but it appears he's finally planning on making it official....

Thanks for all the years Matt! Probably one of the more underrated players of the Patriots' decade. Protected Brady's blindside like a trooper. Got too much crap for his occasional troubles with speed DEs and OLBs (like most LTs don't struggle with guys like Jason Taylor in his prime).

Let's hope Solder ends up being at least 90% Light was.

Thanks Matt.

Enjoy retirement and don't be foolish with the money.

A really good guy on many levels, hopefully he does well post football.

Best of luck in whatever he tries. I'm guessing we'll see him on Pats Fifth Quarter before long. Or we hear about him winning a trophy in a bare handed boar hunting competition in Alabama somewhere.

:eat2:Thanks, Matt!!!!! ....Took some grief and always had a great sense of humor about things....agree that he would be a refreshing addition to one of the pre/post game shows. Also struck me as the type of person that any one of us would enjoying having a beer with.

With Seau in mind i really hope Light has a healthy future ahead of him.

Now if we can get him to replace DeOssie, the "circle" will be complete.

Congrats Matt to a great career and best of luck in your retirement.
