Some of you may have heard it mentioned during the broadcast that Maroney was a grad of Normandy. where I also graduated in 1958. Our football team lost only one game that year at Quincy,Ill. It was led by Norm Beal who I grew up with. Norm was All State as halfback and DB; played 4 years at Missouri as a DB ; then a few years as starting DB for the St. Louis Cardinals. He wore No. 27 at Normandy, which they've now retired in honor of Maroney.
