"We all made mistakes. I made mistakes. It was my decision to call for the onsides kick [that San Diego recovered and converted into a TD and a 24-14 lead]. It felt like a good one. It didn't work out."

"Self-inflicted wounds. That's the best term to describe it."

Has anyone noticed after every loss the Jets have or when things don't go as planned Mangini always uses his "self inflicted wounds" phrase?

Like maybe the other team just plain kicked their @$$e$ but in his mind they the Jets beat themselves. I wish someone would call him out on that. He doesn't give other teams enough credit and he doesn't take enough of the blame for having a suck gameplan and not being able to adjust.

That fool said the same thing after the Patriots game. He said they were victims of "self inflicted wounds".

Well, when we beat him he probably had a point, the Jets had like a hundred yards in penalties.

But you're right, the Chargers just stomped them and for him to claim anything was "self-inflicted" was silly.

I agree. He also appears to be on the verge of tears at press conferences after losses. A very immature individual. I expect him to break out the Captain Queeg iron balls next week.

Hey Pony, looking at your Manny image and thinking Boston Red Sox highlights just aren't the same since that dude was traded. He should of retired a Red Sox.

he is reacting to media while calling plays.Forget the dumb onside kick.
the two pt conversion, chargers get penalized 2-3 times and the ball is at the 1/2 yard line or less ,practically in the endzone and he calls favre in a shotgun spread out five wide instead of a QB sneak or a running play just to react to the media's outburst last week. even the radio hosts on WFAN today were laughing recalling this play.

Eric Mangini is emo?

I thought the criticism last week for calling 3 running plays inside the 5 against the Patriots was unfair - or at least overdone. Passing the ball from the 9 inch line may have been a reaction to that criticism. At any rate, it's only going to lead to more criticism when the receiver wasn't even looking at Favre when the pass (of about 5 yards in the air) was whipped at him. Was Favre looking for another PI call to get to the 4-1/2 inch line?

He should just put himself out of his own misery and fire himself for inflicting too many wounds on his own team. I think Jest fans would like that.

I luv the way he threw his wideouts under the bus in his comments to Andrea Kramer on MNF. Guy is intimidated by his QB's rep.

I agree. A real shame Theo was playing Napoleon with the best Red Sox player in 50 years. If he had simply agreed to void the options, Manny would still be playing for the Sox and playing well. And the Red Sox chances of winning the WS would be that much better.

He did that? Wait a minute, why am I suprised? The man is a snake. That's what snakes do.

The more I watch the Jets and his coaching the more I believe he will not succeed as their head coach.

Excellent and it couldn't happen to a better person. The one positive coming off Sunday's game is that Chad Pennington looked like a god lol
