Malcolm Butler Mega Thread

I believe Eric Rowe over a poster spewing garbage on a message board.

And I believe a coaching staff and various other players over Eric Rowe.

Like no timeout at the end of SB 49 - he would have gotten crushed if Seattle scored.
I have argued this was the stupidest call over and over but everyone just loves to talk about his brilliance there. (including him in "Do Your Job") That was his single stupidest coaching moment ever.

One thing about BB is that he is willing to make decisions for which he could get killed. Like no timeout at the end of SB 49 - he would have gotten crushed if Seattle scored. He will get crushed here. But this one moreso because he could have changed his mind at any point during the game - it was not a one shot decision.

exactly, the D was getting gashed all night and all they could have done was put him in. also curious thst alan branch was inactive and blount walked all over us.

Once Patricia joins his new team I wonder if he will have more to say.

I believe Belichick really screwed up last night and Brady almost bailed him out. However, I refuse not to give the Eagles credit, Super Bowl Champions that is how it goes.

Mike Martz screwed up in SB 36 by not running Marshall over and over and over. If they had done that it would have opened everything and they would have blown us off the field. But we deserve credit for winning it

if he spills the beans then there is no way he’ll ever work for BB again, even if he gets fired from detroit.

That pretty much sums up my anger.

If it’s a single play or a momentary decision, I get it.

But you gave up 22 at the half. In fact, it would’ve been more if their kicker didn’t miss at PAT and they failed a 2-point conversion.

So you don’t even try Butler out in the second half? I mean, at least for a series?

Like that’s some serious gall and you ended up give away another 19 points in the second half to boot and lost the game. Horrible.

he was seriously stubborn about it.

staff? I am quite sure Patricia wanted Butler out there. He just takes orders.
So the game plan was for Patrick Chung to cover the slot receiver? If you believe that I have some land to sell you in Florida, swamp land that is.

At this point I will just jump off the entire Butler conversation until we know more about what happened.

This entire thing is one giant cluster**** where either Rowe is covering for his teammate and lying or the entire coaching staff lost their mind and switched up everything last minute invalidating 2 weeks of practice even though they are on the record in multiple documentaries claiming that practice is where you win games. Also they told the captains to lie to the media about when players were informed about Butlers role.

Honestly who the **** knows what exactly went down..

I think all signs point to it happening just before the game if you look at it logically. Butler crying on the sidelines prior to kick off and now this comment from Rowe. Who knows.

When Belichick cut Lawyer Milloy, the emotional impact of that led to the Pats losing to the Bills 31-0. Should everyone on the team have been cut or traded?

The players are human beings. Yes, it's good to have rules and stick to them, but not knowing when flexibility is called for is fanatacism.

Also the Seattle game after the Collins trade where the defense look like crap. Its not like BB shouldn't realize what happens when you do things like mysteriously bench Butler at this point.

Yup and it cost this team a title.

It’s the goddamn Super Bowl. Malcolm Butler would’ve had to have a year long affair and impregnate my wife to not play him.

But to do so strictly from stubbornness is one of the dumbest decisions ever. You’re helping out the Eagles. Why?

I am not sure that BB is known for his flexibility at all. Again, I said it in the GDT and still think that Butler should have been on the field at the very latest in the middle of the third quarter when it became apparent that no adjustment would stop the Eagles taking advantage of our largely talent-barren front 7.

You live by the sword, you die by the sword..
Ok. I thought you had been defending the decision.

Belichick's ego has grown to nearly unmanable levels lol. He is still the best coach, but not always the best in that moment, Pederson was better.

Belichick hurt the "T.E.A.M". No Way Pederson would do that.. or 2001 Belichick either. you needed 66 year old 5 Ring 2018 Belichick for that kind of egomaniac move.

Both Brady and Gronk said "we'll see" about coming back next year last night, that is a far cry from "Hell No!" last year when asked the same thing.

I also think the D kind of played "depressed". Probably get flamed for that.

Again DMac and other captains are on the record saying they knew it well before.

It also logically makes no sense that Rowe just took Butlers snaps because there is no way they would have played Butler against Jeffrey. I dont see how they would move the entire coverage responsibilities right before the game. Especially for Chung that would be extremely difficult unless he was never meant to cover Ertz anyway.

Reasonably looking at it all it makes more sense to me that Rowe is covering for Butler a bit and giving a non-answer than the alternative because of all the other things that decision would affect.

you misunderstood me. I was agreeing with you. Patricia wanted Butler on the field.
