Cassel is a canidate, I love the summary.....

You and Matt Cassel probably have a lot in common. Before week 2 of the 2008 season, you both probably started the same amount of NFL games...ZERO. In fact, if by some chance you started one college football game, even if it was at Central Toledo College of Cosmetology, that would still be one more than Matt Cassel ever did. So who could blame anyone for thinking the Pats season was over just as fast as it begun when Brady went down week 1? Well, Cassel had other plans. His plans included leading New England to an 11-5 record, throwing for almost 4,000 yards, and completing 63.4% of his passes. Add it all up and what do you get? $14 million and a ton of Chiefs jersey sales. Matt Cassel knows better than anyone the importance of Fighting For Every Yard... because he almost never got the chance to.

But I am hoping Manning gets it. I believe in the curse!

Don't worry, you don't need the curse for Manning, their team is done. They don't have anybody to stretch the field, their defense is still weak up the middle and they still have midget LB's who wear down towards the end of the season.

The COOLEST looking cover would be Fitzgerald leaping up with the Eagles defenders around him.

THE NFL HATES PATS cover is going to be Peyton Manning staring down the Patriot Defense.

It should probably be Peterson, since it was supposed to be him last year before Brett started playing games.

It would be very cool if it was Cassel though. The guy was an inspiration to watch.

Manning is always a candidate. But, a QB was on it the last few seasons.

I think its Fitz. Not to mention the slogan this year is "fight for every yard."

Its someone black this year I think. Favre was on it last year.

Well, we can't all be offseason champs every year like the Patriots.

Roethlisberger

Hope it's Manning. LOL. That way the Pats are guaranteed a 1st round bye.

Roethlisberger

I heard there may be a split cover with Troy P and Larry Fitz. If that makes any sense.

I have to go through this damn Manning cover thing every year since he is always a candidate. Sigh.

Since he retired, could it be........ Madden?

Cassel being on the cover would be cool.. But D.Ware or Ed Reed gets my vote..

I dont care about the cover anymore, how bout changing the game up a bit..

BTW, the page that Box linked to has wallpapers of the nine "finalists." A couple of things worth noting.

* Pay-me-tons is, of course, trying to stare down the Patriots' D. OTOH, I'm sure the Pats wouldn't mind this particular play, since there's no O-line standing in their way.

* Cassel is the only one whose wallpaper actually shows his face without a helmet blocking it. [Although to be honest, I don't think we needed that extreme a closeup. ] OTOH, it's also the only one that isn't available as an iPhone download.

I think it will be Ben, after the super bowl win I bet they put him on there to keep milking it.
