Mac Jones is now a Pro Bowler

Just like Matt Cassell!

Good for Jones and all, but there must be at least 10 AFC QBs who had a better year I would think.
There are 6: Mahomes, Allen, Herbert, Burrow, Wentz, Carr. An argument could be made for Ben Roethlisberger who had similar numbers but a much worse passing rating because of completion %.

That's weird. He's in because Allen and Carr declined I assume? If one more QB pulls out (Mahomes, Herbert or Jackson), then I'm pretty sure Carson Wentz would be next up. That's how dumb and meaningless the Pro Bowl is. Jakobi Meyers might be next up after that.
I thought Wentz already declined it? I thought I heard that but could be wrong. I agree though, absolutely pointless. Can't blame players for turning it down after a long season.

As long as he doesn't play a beach football game

Yeah, this is a mostly meaningless honor when you consider that a ton of people probably turned it down before they asked him......similar to Vince Young during his rookie year.

It does lead to something more interesting (imo) : the narrative lately about “you NEED an elite QB to win”. I’ve never bought it.

Yesterday, four QBs lead their teams for the chance to move on to the SB. Of the four, only Mahomes has a legit claim at being a 2021-22 top 5 QB. Burrows may join that class with time, but to crown his a— (rip D Green) at this point is premature.

Mac is an all star this year. We all know it’s not because he’s elite. It for him to get to the ProBowl in year one, with everything he faced, is impressive. I think he’ll continue to ascend and that, if he plays on a well constructed team, he can be a winner.

In many of the losses, he showed spunk and brought NE close, thus giving them a shot. I like him. I look forward to seeing how it goes the next few years.

Wasn't the excuse that a lot of people using for him being bad the last six weeks of the season was him being injured. If he's not 100,% he should not go.

Be bad if he gets hurt playing....

Thanks! So four guys have to decline to make room for the seventh best, give or take for subjectivity.
