Looks like we miss Cassel's Return to Foxboro

Cassel won't play in Foxboro, but apparently the statements that his season was over were a bit premature.

Cassel undergoes hand surgery; hope remains that he'll return | Red Zone

“We’re just giving as much time as we can to see where he is,” Haley said, “and as we make decisions, we’re going to let you know. But we have not done anything with Matt yet, as far as his status.”

Although the injury could end Cassel’s season, he has not been placed on injured reserve. Haley indicated that the team could get a better idea about Cassel’s return possibilities before long.

“I would say there is potential (for a return),” the coach said, “but that really depends here on this first week and how things go.”

Does Haley's last statement refer to how rehab looks after a few days, or how the team looks after Monday's game? I guess maybe Haley is figuring with the state of the AFCW that as long as they can stay close to .500 over the next few weeks, then they still have a realistic chance of winning the division.

Last time we played this team we lost TB for the year.
