Lombardi's great insight on BB's taking away Atlanta

It looks correct. I think he meant poor in relation to the rest of the offense. The Falcons have one of the highest-scoring offenses in the history of the league. They finished 8th all-time in points scored (just ahead of the Greatest Show on Turf Rams), and scored on 55.8% of their drives, second only to the 2007 Patriots.

They led the league this year in points and touchdowns and passer rating, and were top 3 in a ton of categories...except red zone offense, where they were barely top 10.

Again, not a huge deficiency, but not as big a strength as many other areas. It probably points to a lot of explosive scoring plays for them since they did lead the league in TDs, but that explosiveness is less utilized when the field shrinks in the red zone.

And I was annoyed when Cris Carter started appearing on the Make Me Smarter podcast instead of Lombardi. What a ****ing moron. And Nick Wright as a host was absolutely unbearable. The only reason to endure that was Lombardi, and then he left. Glad to see he's now on the Ringer and looking forward to hearing him more without the obnoxiously whiny Wright screaming in the background.

Hands down, the best read of the week - - and not surprising that it is Mike Lombardi.

I need to read it over again a couple of times and commit it to memory.
