Re: Cardinals want a 3rd for Boldin

If he wants 10M, then he's not worth a 7th, because he's not worth that contract.

:bricks:

Don't you know that thinking clearly will get you no where on this board?

Lombardi said the 3rd is easy, but the problem is Boldin wants too much money and signing him will be near impossible.

Age doesnt matter if you can still play at a high level. Anyone who has their jaw busted and demands to be taken off IR and plays a few games later is one tough sob. Sign him, it would be the pick up of the off season.

I'm going out on a limb saying Boldin would have a bigger impact then Julius Peppers. Boldin would be cheaper (7-9mil) and would make this the #1 offense in 2010. Peppers would help the pass rush greatly, but the defense wouldn't be best in the league. With 3 star receivers and a healthy Brady, the numbers would resemble 2007.

What about getting bolden and peppers? and keeping wilfork, and a healthy wes welker? oooooh man, can you say, finish what they started in 2007?

I wouldn't even give them a forth for Boldin.......

As a Cards season ticket holder I recommend don't sign him for the durability and cost reasons mentioned already. Yes...he is a tough SOB but his durability has been in question and in reality, the Cards are very happy with Breaston working opposite Fitzgerald. The draft pick isn't the issue as much as the cash.

We can do better but if they did sign him, we could also do a lot worse.

Word down here is that Boldin really wants to end up in Miami. That's where I think he'll go. Good, let them overspend on him. The guy is the best #2 WR in the NFL, but he's still a #2. I don't think the Cardinals receiving corps is going to be any worse when they insert Breaston in as the #2 to take his place (should Boldin not be coming back).

Michael Lombardi just said on NFL Total acess that the Cardinals are only asking for a third for Boldin...just saying He would want a new contract though.

The problem with Boldin isn't getting him (he is well worth a third, maybe even a second round pick) the problem is paying him.

Is Boldin worth big time #1 wr money? Granted they will most likely part ways with Moss and his contract next season, but is Boldin the guy you want to take Moss's spot? They do very different things on the field and Boldin is always hurt.
