Little Tidbit About the Seymour Mess

Ok, BradyFWT and Italia44 play nice or you'll make us try out the new triangle thingy!

I have a question and I am sure one of you would know the answer.

Seymour is playing the 09 season for about $ 3.8 million. I find that a very low number. Was he paid a bonus up front that would include the 09 season? And if so would he not have to pay the Patriots back those monies if he decides he is bigger than the NFL and does not report?

He got a small signing bonus in 2006 when he signed his 3 year extension followed by an $18M+ option bonus in 2007. Only signing bonus money is recoverable. Option bonus money is not. So if he retired the team holding his rights could recover 1/4th of his (I think it was) $5M or so signing bonus.

We may have a different definition for the word "tidbit". This is more of a "hunch" or "absolutely out of my ass speculation".

I'm pi**ed...shmessy,andyjohnson and molewisrocks are going at it like dogs in heat in thread after thread, and you delete my posts?

Then,you leave up WTF's bomb-thrower?

Stay away from my posts...you're being arbitrary,by singling me out and leaving your buddies,to roam at will.

What's the chances Seymour just ends up back where he started, with the Patriots?
Not that I think it will happen, but it would be hilarious if Seymour signed as a free agent with the Pats next March.

Eugene Parker is Michael Crabtree's agent. Any serious football fan knows about how Crabtree wants the money he SHOULD have gotten had he been picked where he SHOULD have...that's why he's holding out STILL and threatens to hold out all year. I don't know how deeply involved Parker is in creating this ridiculous holdout, but I thought it worth mentioning. He certainly isn't giving his client the best advice, it would seem.

Eugene Parker is Jason Peters' agent. The Bills offered Peters more money than any other player in Bills history, even after he screwed the pooch and held out the year before...yet this unprecedented amount of money wasn't good enough. Peters was shocked at being traded, which goes to illustrate that he was ill-informed. You'd really have to be a Bills fan to have followed the whole story. Bad moves all around by Peters. Although he did get his money in Philly, it wasn't much different than Buffalo's offer.
