Again....you're comparing apples to oranges.
The single most important aspect that shoots everything down immediately is that Rodney Harrison wouldn't have been here either, had it not been for the financial value that he provided. If Rodney's demands had been what J.Harrison's currently are, do you think he'd have ever stepped foot on Foxborough ground?
If you think that 6-7 million dollars a year (which is what James' agent claimed they both thought he was currently worth) is a reasonable price for him then more power to you.
If the asking price were 1-2 or even 2-3 million dollars, then the conversation may be different.
When it's all said and done he isn't going to get 6-7 million. He'll either have to retire or take like 2-4. Unless somebody trying to get to the cap floor waste some money on him.
