It really comes down to this:

Meriweather + David Harris

or

Meriweather + Jerod Mayo + extra 2nd rd pick in 09 (could be a high one if the Chargers tank this year)



I'd say it's too early to completely pass judgement, but Mayo is just as good as Harris. Add on the extra 2nd rounder that we could use on another ILB to fill Bruschi's spot, and i'd say it was a damn good deal.

Woodley looks awesome in the Steelers system... but who would he be starting over in NE? Definately not Thomas or Vrabel.

Thomas would play ILB with Woodley on the outside in that scenario.

Hah, don't tease me like that. Patrick Willis is clearly a special player.
But I think Mayo has already shown that he is good in his own way.
He has been playing quite solid considering that he is only a rookie and in a complex scheme like BB's.

Well the thing is that if we UNDO the 49ers trade, the Pats have NO 1st round picks this year. That would have really sucked balls. So no thanks to undoing history. Go ahead and lust after Woodley and Harris, I think Mayo will be just fine for us. Has he given you any reason to doubt so far??
