A couple of interesting, as well as somewhat misleading, comments:
It's interesting, because he's giving both the "cheap" AND "not cheap" sides ammunition. It's somewhat misleading because, by using the entire decade, he covers for the reality of 2005-2009, which has been less successful than the previous portion of those 10 years, and which has seen the Patriots being less successful than the Colts and Steelers (albeit in different ways).
I just want to say that success is relative. They came one fluke play away from being the best team in the history of the game in 2007. One could argue that loss was as much as a fluke as us building a dynasty on the tuck rule.
Although I agree 2006/08/09 we haven't been as great, we can't overlook 16-0. No ones ever done that before. I know its not a Lombardi, but to say we've been cheap and paying for is only true excluding that season. It was an incredible season, we pull stats out of our ass's to defend Brady's vs Manning's stats. But a realist here would realize that a bulk of Toms stats came in one year, ~1/4th of his total TD passes in one season, we can't selectively choose how we view 2007. We either admit we played out of our mind and came one minute from greatness, or have to dismiss it all together. We're just so fickle it kinda irritates me.
Back on topic; good news that somethings getting done.
