Kornheiser in tonite's GB vs Cincinnati game

After watching the Bills/'skins game on Saturday, I would take Theisman over Korn hole anyday.

Theisman was with the wrong people. He would be best in a two person grouping. It would also be interesting with Theisman and Jaws together.

Naturally, that wouold mean Theisman has to respect Jaw's opinion.

Who would be the play-by-play guy? Aren't both Jaws and Joey Sunshine color commentators?

I should have qualified if Theisman was in a 3 person broadcast group. Paul Mcguire was just terrible. Talk about a homer. I remember one game he was amazed how Manning walked up to the huddle.

Yeah, that's the problem, them feeling they have to do stuff to keep the game interesting, like talking over the game, joking and clowing around, telling long boring stories about non-football stuff, long boring stories about quasi-football (Farve, etc), stuff that no one cares about, on-field interviews while the game goes on in a tiny box on the screen. Football is interesting, not clowns.

Well, during a preseason game the actually do have to keep the game interesting. I agree the stuff in the regular season games is hideous. But there is a difference between the pre and regular season and honestly don't have much of a problem when they do it in the preseason. But yes, when they do it in the regular season it's incredibily absurd and insulting to the nuts/bolts football audience. And the thing is Jaworski is great, but they have to build the whole broadcast around Kornheiser.

They should have canned Korn this year and make the 3rd position rotational to bring in a new face for each game. It would at least break things up.

What position?

Kornheiser plays the role of an over-the-top cartoon character. It started with Pardon The Interruption and was then expanded on Monday Night Football. Prior to that he came across as an articulate sports reporter with decent insight and analysis. I have the feeling what we see on MNF (and to a lesser extent on PTI) is an act that he is being told to play by the show's producer. Unfortunately for him, once he gets fired from MNF - soon, as nobody seems to last more than a few years on that show anymore - he'll be remembered for his clown act and nobody will take him seriously.

It's because he lacks on-screen charisma. You can take him seriously on the radio because you don't have to see him. But he's not a good looking man by any stretch and his body language doesn't have any oomph in it, so he's reduced to playing the cartoon character goofy guy on screen.

I couldn't even stand to watch it last night. They spent more time worshipping Favre and the media circus dedicated to him than actual commentrary on the game.
