It might feel different in the locker room, but this Super Bowl birth feels rather ho-hum compared to other years. Maybe it is winning 2 of the last three seasons. Or maybe it is the lack of a compelling storyline surrounding the Patriots winning. In either case, this year doesn't feel like the story is special and the upcoming game feels like any other game for the Patriots.
My question is whether this game being like any other actually helps the Patriots to achieve victory. Can the Patriots tap into this lack of distraction and have an even more focused Super Bowl effort than past years? Or is the lack of distraction more a problem, since this team has seemingly fed off of controversy in past championships. Moreover, does the lack of chaos in the media benefit the young Eagles who could founder if given too much media attention? Just a little food for thought and not meant to slight this team in the least for their great effort this year.
