Jim Grey vs Amani Toomer on Brady

The reaction of Giant players to Brady, in particular, and the Patriots, in general, over the years has been interesting. I assumed after having won two SBS that they would be sort of gracious. However, I find the opposite to be true. Almost to a man, they sound vindictive and jealous, reminding me of the Ravens. Even Strachan, who claims to be friends with Brady, takes less than veiled shots very often such as his ridiculous take on GMA right after DG began.

Their apparent bitterness soothes my '07 soul.

I except Osi Umenyiora.

It's unfair, but perception IS reality.

Well no it isn't lol.. Perception is perception a way of looking at a situation. Doesn't mean its real.

That goddamned phrase is beaten into the heads of every Army recruit from basic and throughout their Army career. Having worked in a Joint Forces environment, it's interesting that almost all the political backstabbing and drama happens among (current and former) Army members. I'm sure it's a coincidence.

As big a fan of the Pats as I am I'm an even bigger fan of our military. Thank you.

"Perception becomes reality" = "We can make stuff up and repeat the lie often enough that the masses will believe it".

Amani Toomer = Joseph Goebbels on this subject.

Well done, young man. I'm sure the entire Toomer family is proud of you, Amani.
.

Toomer was at it again last night. I can't say what was said because too many here aren't mature enough to handle the topic respectfully. Did Brady steal his gf or something?

Toomer also said he was disappointed that he didn't get to play for the Pats, which he claims was his choice after he left NY. Maybe that's why he keeps lashing out at Tom. You would think that Toomer would be more respectful of a fellow Michigan alumni.

That is indeed interesting. My family has a history in the Marines and I've never heard the phrase used by any of us that served.

Reminds me of that phrase about the last refuge of a coward...speaking nonsense as if it were truth, over and over again, until it gets enough cultural traction that you can hide behind others who are using it.

In your best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice, wrap after me: "Sour grapes Amani Toomah is a gloom and doomah...he is no Chris Berman the Boomah....he has no feel good humah....so he is a football tumah for Tom Brady the ageless Puma.

I think you're thinking of Osi...he used to take #2's on his GF.

Anyway, F the Giants. Was Toomer even on that 07 team? He's a nobody.

Toomer was on the 07 team. I remember him making a few key catches in the super bowl

I think it is all about supply and demand for opposing view. The likes of Shanon Sharpe, Stephen A Smith...has conceded that Brady is the GOAT. The desparate ones ....Keyshawn Johnson, Toomer, Chris Sims...are still hanging around.

No one, however, can come close to Marshall Faulk's pre-SB assessment of Tom Brady: "He sucked. He couldn't beat out Drew Henson. I was never scared of him.". What a jackass...

My CO in Afghanistan was a Marine, and a Mustang to boot. I like the Army fine and I've had my good (and bad) COs in the Army, but my CO in country was the best I've yet had the privilege of serving under. I'll leave it at that.

Half the country perceives to be the second coming of Hitler while half perceives him to be a basically well-meaning yet foul-mouthed businessman. Many smart people on both sides. For each of them, their reality IS their perception. If some objective reality exists outside of each individual's perception, who is left to determine what it is, and how do they define it without using their own perception?

You're confusing opinion/perception with truth/reality. One is a variable. One is a theoretical constant. No matter how often some idiot from the Jets fan base claims that Brady's never won a Super Bowl, and no matter how deeply into the mental illness he goes in order to honestly believe that Brady's never won a Super Bowl, the reality is going to be that Brady's won 5 Super Bowls, to date.

"Their reality" is as meaningless as "their truth". It's an argument used to justify idiocy and bias/prejudice.
