Jerod Mayo Cap Tidbit

Mayo suffered the same injury that Victor Cruz did, right? It's a tough one I've been told.

Mayo will be 29yrs old and coming from a knee surgery, plus a large cap hit (10.6m/6m-dead), and 3-more yrs contract.

I got a feeling that he will either be cut or traded.

IMO

Depends on what the Patriots can do in the draft. I think we can expect the Patriots to pick two or three OL again in 2015 to see if they can add another impact lineman. After that I expect LB to be a priority due to 1) Casillas and Ayers becoming free agents, 2) lack of depth, and 3) Mayo's unreliability due to injuries that are taking a toll. I'm sad about that, but it's a reality. Mayo is the Patriots' defensive version of Gronk.

Re-signing Akeem Ayers is a priority in the off-season. Re-structuring Mayo's contract can wait until after the draft.
Ayers got to really showcase himself and took advantage of his oppotunity. More than likely he's going to chase top dollar for his services and that probably means he's off to greener patures. He came to a great team, played well and he knows this is probably his last chance at a multiple year deal and to cash in.

We rescued him from the obscurity of being in Tenn. and riding the pine. When it happens I will wish him well. Can't blame the guy if that's what he does.
