He's the best running back prospect since Saquon in my opinion. Granted, I'm a lifelong Notre Dame fan, but the dude is incredible. If he played against Boise State's schedule last year and was *the guy* like Jeanty, he'd have rushed for just as many yards and had three times the receptions and four times the receiving yards. He's also a really good blocker.Dude can run a football...can we draft this guy?
Running backs are a gamble.
I feel like the one more score (we need each game) that we whiff, is a rushing touchdown.

Awesome analysis...We would have to really make a bold deal to trade up that high. He's the best running back prospect since Saquon in my opinion. He also has much less wear on his body, having shared touches with Jadarian Price, who is also a borderline first round back. ND's running back room is overflowing with talent. They have a guy named Kedren Young who's injured for the season but he's 6'1" 235, fast and powerful. Then there's Aneyas Williams, Gi'Bran Payne, who might need to transfer despite being a starter at 80% of FBS programs and the true freshman Nolan James Jr., who's looking awesome so far in practice.
They also have two top 150 RBs committed in the 2026 class and have a shot at Kemon Spell, the #1 RB in the 2027 class.
ND has taken recruiting to another level under Marcus Freeman. The Patriots were very reluctant to draft ND players when Kelly was there, which makes a lot of sense because Kelly didn't develop players or recruit the level of talent Freeman does. But I'd like to see them start looking harder at Irish players. Guys like CB Leonard Moore, LB Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, and OL Charles Jagusah (though his injury history is scary) for example, are also first round prospects. There are a plethora of possible second day prospects as well, such as OL Billy Schrauth, TE Eli Raridon, OL Anthony Knapp, OL Ashton Craig, OL Aamil Wagner, DE Boubacar Traore, DE Bryce Young, LB Drayk Bowen, WR Malachi Fields, WR Jordan Faison, S Adon Shuler, LB/DE Junior Tuihalamaka... I'm sure I'm missing some. Then there are guys who look like day three picks at worst who could develop into higher picks like DL Gabe Rubio, S Tae Johnson, LB Jayden Ausberry, CB Christian Gray, OL Guerby Lambert.
It's honestly so much different from Kelly's tenure, it's crazy.
You do realize we've won the last 7 straight, right? By definition, no we don't need 'one more score'.Dude can run a football...can we draft this guy?

Not to mention, it's not like everyone's can't-miss binky Ashton Jeanty is looking pretty bust-y right now. They could, but I don't think they will. Love will be the first RB off the board, and although the position is undervalued he's really good and the top RB has been going top 10 unless it's a weak crop at the top,Look for them to go Edge, OL, and WR the first 2 days of the draft.
Just for fun: One TD could have sent us to OT in our losses. And could have turned 5 games from one score victories to 2 score leads. (I didn't look at each game but off my head I should add at least 2 of those 5 were 2 scores until the last seconds and only risk was onsiders). You do realize we've won the last 7 straight, right? You could say this about almost every team. The 2-7 Jets would be 6-2 and have an unknown result with an overtime game against Carolina if they scored one more touchdown. Almost half of NFL games (47%) end with a 7 point spread or less. Good teams win close games- bad teams lose close games.Just for fun: One TD could have sent us to OT in our losses. I was a fan of Jeanty but his troubles in LV are proof that you shoudn't draft a franchise RB until you have an OL in place because no RB is good enough to run behind a bad OL successfully. The RB is the last piece of the puzzle. Not to mention, it's not like everyone's can't-miss binky Ashton Jeanty is looking pretty bust-y right now.
65 yards... vs jetsYou do realize we've won the last 7 straight, right? By definition, no we don't need 'one more score'.
They draft a RB every year, and really unless it's a top-5 guy, they're pretty much a dime a dozen. There's 5 all-timers, and then like, numbers 6-50 aren't all that different.
They'll draft a guy, probably sign a guy cheap that everyone will hate, and Gibson comes back off the ACL next year, we'll see where he is.
Considering there's a non-zero chance that we already have a top-5 guy in the making...I'm not sure what this is all about.
It's not on the RBs. The iOL aren't getting the push. And we had a RB get 3 TDs, almost 100 yards of total offense and he's a rookie with our two other main RBs injured. I'm not sure what more you want.65 yards... vs jets
Im not asking for one running back to get 100 yards a game(okay maybe the one I wish we could draft)... but between 3 or so players... we cant get but 65 yards?
We shall see when Stevenson returns...
But im not gonna hold my breath.
The lack of even a decent run game is going to bite us in the ass come playoff time.
