The 32-year-old didn’t play well enough to have a longer leash, but as he relayed to reporters last week, the situation around him didn’t help the cause.
“There’s so much I could say, but I guess, ‘not ideal.’ Obviously, a unique situation here,” Brissett told reporters, per ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “I’m not the one to make excuses, but at some point, somebody is going to have to watch the film and understand what I was dealing with. I think that kind of speaks for itself. I think it’s very easy for people to blame the quarterback for things — that’s what this profession is — but yeah man, tough year.”

If Mayo/Wolfe don't release him right now, he has zero control over the team. Fair comments or not, you don't say that out loud.

He's making ownership's job easier.

The perfect backup.

It's almost at the top. Reason why? Control over the team and setting a tone.

The tone’s already been set. This is not a serious or competitive team. Releasing (or not) the backup QB with a few games left in the season for (accurately) implying that our entire offense is a complete mess will not change that. They can try to change the tone with new personnel (and hopefully some new coaches) next season.

Context matters, NESN used part of Brissett's comments to Reiss but you might be better served to take a look at the whole thing before advocating for Biscuit's release.

Regardless of Brissett's status, I think Mayo should activate Milton for a few games to see what we have. The rest of the season should be evaluation of the rookies to see who might be keepers.

Brisket still pissed that Maye gets credit for a win despite the team scoring zero points with Maye on the field.

The dude is not the long term clipboard carrier. They drafted QB2 already. I don’t even want to waste a roster spot on a vet. They are 3-11. Cut his ass, send a message. Let him go do back up QB ads.

Absolutely he should at least be suspended

Pretty sad
This is not a guy who ruffles feathers. Quite the opposite
There is nothing Mayo accomplished this year
No little wins
We thought it may be tough sledding but he would have a motivated team that respected him
Players are even questioning him

hes right
the Oline is atrocious and the WR core is almost as bad, not to mention play calling and never having a lead to protect

this team is a downright embarrassment
BK should be selling paper bags at the concession stands and you should be refunded your ticket prices

Things are bad internally if Brissett is pushed over the edge like this. How much deeper does this go?

Are you a member of the Mayo household? Obviously playing for Jerrod the Fraud, the most unqualified coach the NFL has seen in ages, is “not ideal”. Brissett should be cut for telling the truth?
