Greer's contract was for 4 years, terms undisclosed:

New Orleans Saints sign cornerback Jabri Greer - NFL - SI.com

Philip Buchanon reported signed a 2 year $8.5M deal with Detroit:

Two more CBs off the market. Greer turned down a 4 year/$20M deal from Buffalo, so he likely got money similar to what the Ravens gave Dominique Foxworth. Buchanon's deal is extremely reasonable compared to the big money being shelled out for everyone else.

Crap.

I was hoping he was the guy.

Oh well. Six draft picks in the top 100. Guess the Patriots will have a very young cornerback corps.

Down to Bodden, apparently, for an upgrade.

i dont expect any free agents not with our cap space and what db's are getting. hopefully the pats work magic with all the picks they have

I never thought Greer or Buchanon were realistic signings for the Pats.

As for cap room, the Pats have plenty.

plenty of cap room, really ?

Buchanon wasn't really a good fit here. He was pretty abysmal when asked to play a non-cover 2 system in Oakland and Houston. He was quietly very good in Tampa in the cover 2, so him going to the same system in Detroit makes sense.

Greer could have been a good player. I'd hope the Patriots redouble their efforts to get Bodden.

you really have no clue with a statement like that.

they will use their money what they wont do is overspend for talent on the free agent market. If thet dont get say bodden for example it is because he is asking for too much.

If they can't spend it on FA becuase nothing is of value they will find ways to use it on there own guys. The Pats under BB have always used their money and to call them cheap is just being clueless.

maybe cheap wasn't the right word, I'm just tired of the oneals of the world I think bodden would be a really good addition I hope they atleast up the offer a lil bit. The defensive roster needs upgrades I hope they get atleast bodden or springs. The pass rush will be upgraded via the draft I'm not worried about that position.

They need some of the money for rookies and to re-up some of their own guys. Id expect maybe one medium signing, like a Bodden. If not they'll go with numbers and hope some stick.

Guess it's going to be Bodden or a rookie.
