I mean come in, ya'll all knew this was coming. He's left 9/10 runners on base today against the Angels. Twice with the bases loaded. I'm just done with him. You can call it a slump. I call it the downfall of his career.

What makes you think he has value right now? Trading him is not an option.

He's not going to bring in any real value on the trading block, and there aren't going to be many teams that would need him let alone want him.

as much as it pains me to say it. its time to put him on the 60 DL. the sox wont out right release him. they have to much respect for him to do that. and they shouldn't. but its time to look at other options.

Who would of thought Tek would be looking better then Ortiz at the plate this season.

Ill always like Ortiz for what he has done but when it's time, it's time! Why not let him go down to aaa to see if he can figure out some guys in the minors.

Don't know why it's so hard for people to except the fact that Papi (just like his buddy Manny) was probably Juicing during his run of greatness.

I love Ortiz for what he has done here... But it's hard to ignore the likelihood.

I don't believe Ortiz was ever juicing, but what do I know. It sucks that hes in such a slump, or such a decline in his career, but it also sucks to see fans jumping to conclusions and ranting about him being traded. Sure, something should be done. Send him down to the minors, give him some days off for a bit, something. But trade him??? He wouldn't have much value, and I'd hate to have to pitch against him if he came to town and decided to start smacking the ball around.

Or that they're both hitting better than Mark Teixeira, who's currently batting at an .198 average.

Trade him where and for what; he's got little to no value on the market. A big, slow non fielding power hitter with no power.

It looks like the guy has completely lost it, hopefully he can turn it around somewhat, there's nowhere to go but up for him at this point.

Considering all the injuries they've had early on and him being an automatic out in the 4 hole, not to mention how lousy their starters have been, it is amazing they are a game out of first at this point..............

His lack of hitting has finally gotten to the point where the team has yanked him from the lineup and "resting" him for the weekend...if he can't improve after he has had a weekend of rest he's done.

Yes, we should trade Oritz. Maybe throw in Jim Longborg and the phone will ring off the hook. Just who did you have in mind that this trade would fetch?

OBVIOUSLY Evan Longoria... Duh.

well, right now hecant even make good contact, so i doubt any amout of steroids would help him. Right now his problem is mental.

Tek ... Lugo or Tek look better right now.

Ortiz gotta go because he hasn't produced anything for us. I'm surprised that Redsox doesn't sign a contract with Bay who is amazing and productive.

We had won many close games because of Bay. Jason Bay is better than Ortiz.

They would without a doubt help him catch up to those 90mph meatballs that he cant seem to get the bat around in time for. Just sayin...

It's sad the Ortiz era is ending like this, always has been such a fun personable type of guy.

Bay is not signing a contract here no matter how much money they throw at him; he'll be one of if not the top outfielders to hit free agency after the season.

The Yankees will dump Damon and Shemp and back up a dumptruck full of money, it's what they do.

Having said that, he'll probably sign an extention tomorrow..............

Opposing pitchers are getting Ortiz out on fast balls that he can't catch up to. Two years ago nobody would throw him fast balls because he'd hit them deep. He has lost a lot of bat speed and looks like he's ready for the old fogies home.

It's Offical; It's Time to Trade Ortiz.

So let's "sell" our Ortiz stock when his value couldn't be lower and "buy" Jason Bay stock when it couldn't possibly be higher.

Seems like a good plan to me. Any interest in buying some stock in Enron while you're at it?
