Can't wait for this team to come together. It's a matter of when. Not if.

Sunday can't come soon enough.

I think it depends on how NE loses (given, for the sake of argument, that they lose in the first place).

If it's a hard-fought game and they barely lose, I'm not particularly concerned.

If they have another bad attitude, no fire game and lose by a couple of TDs or more, then yeah, I'm going to be pretty concerned.

Well, I don't think we'll be able to go 18-1 for the season if we lose sunday.

A week 2 NFC opponent is not a "must win"

It would suck to start 0-2, but this is not a must win game in the grand scheme of things

if it means threads like this die? then yeah

in the real world...hell no

Completely agree........mathematically this is insanely far from a 'must win' game.........add in the projected win total of their divisional opponents and it becomes EVEN LESS of a 'must win' game

It's crazy to have a thread like this.

Let's put it this way, if the Pats lose on Sunday will you stop watching for the remainder of the year? Of course not......and why.......because the season would still be far from over.

We started 1-2 in 2012, was the season over then?

So, I would think it would be must game, if the patriots were 0-5.

They would win the division unless they start 0-5. This team's a good football team and you can't write them off in one week or two.

Obviously it's not a " Must win" in the literal sense. But do you fear the season could be in jeopardy with a loss @ NO?

Keep in mind that Hou, TB, Carolina are up next. They'd have to go on a big win streak.

I don't put any stock into what happened in 01,03,2014. That said, I also don't put any stock into what occured in 09 @ NO.

You're all in bonds?

Every game is a must win in a 16 game season where home field is often a 1 win or tie breaker difference.

Actually its only about 5 or 6 posters. And its the same posters every year acting like flaming ****ies. If anything negative happens they project their loser selves into the forum. As if they have nothing going on in their lives.... if their precious football team dosent win its just another not-so-great thing they can add to their mantle. So they throw a tantrum.

If you act this way over a football team ( a football team that should be given the benefit of the doubt since every time they seem to get it right) you have serious serious issues. Like you are a loser. Particularly since you are turning a nice forum like this (ya know, a place where real fans want to talk about real ****) into kindergarden.

You could take most of their tripe and just copy and paste into all of their posts here. Its just the same ******** over and over.

They love to get attention and the best way to get it is to act this way. No sensible adult with a brain and a semblance of a life would act this way over a ****ing football team.

Its pathetic and embarrassing.

Something, something kumbaya..

I think so. I don't have the stats in front of me...but starting 0-2 does you no favors in your pursuit of the post-season.

I can't wait until the semi-******ed sports media and the chicken littles here start spewing their 13% chances to make the playoffs when being 0-2 as if that stat would have any significance to a team like the Patriots. It is the same statistical fallacy as the dipshits who were using historical data to quantify our likelihood to come back at the SB. This is a good team even if they start 0-2.

AFC East is the cushiest safety net in the league. 9-7 could win the division.

Having to play on Wild Card weekend would be jarring and disappointing, tho.

Yes it is. With the schedule the Patriots have this year you do not want to start 0-2.

Exactly. The Pats are a lock for the AFC East (which means a playoff spot). And as we all know anything can happen in the playoffs. The second half of the season (minus the Pittsburgh game) should be entertaining as every other team in the East should be in full tank mode by then.

You can't overlook teams but the AFC east's a joke this season with maybe the exception of the dolphins. I am not worried about the division. I am talking bigger picture come the playoffs. It would be a difficult road to start in the divisional round instead of having one of those byes.

I say nothing can be taken for granted -- even the AFCE. EVERY game is a "must win."
