I wonder if he's going to be prosecuted for having a handgun in the socialist, gunfree (unless you're rich and famous) zone of NYC.

He faces two counts that could land him up to 15 years in prison. What's the delay in the city making a decision?

Guns seized in search of NFL player's home - CNN.com

Apparently, he's taken the risky perhaps foolhardy position of no jail time, which instead of two months and 1500 hours of community service, could ultimately lead to three _years_ in prison.

Very risky, Plax.

Former New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress turned down plea bargain to three-month sentence for gun possession, says report - NJ.com

Who or what is Gail?

Burress was a complete jerk for turning down an offer of only two

months in jail. The prosecuting attorney is an even bigger fool for

standing on his head to get Burress to agree to plead guilty and

receive the reduced sentence. Justice will not be served if Burress

receives no jail time.

Just imagine the conversation with other inmates...

"What you in for?"

"Armed Robbery"

"Murder"

"Plax...?"

"Shot myself playing with a gun. I'm 'aight tho, gangster fo life homie.."

What justice is this going to serve again? To make sure millionaire athletes know that they can't just shoot themselves and get away with it? I understand why the law is in place but does anyone really think Plaxico is a danger to the public?

Ha. I guess I was going with the British spelling, goal. Sorry.

If you were a VIP then you could fix it, it's only $15.

Having a loaded gun in his pants in a crowded club that could have gone off an shot an innocent bystander instead of himself isn't a danger to the public?

So was this guy--DEA Shoots Himself--in a classroom of public school kids. Why wasn't he prosecuted? He pointed it at them with the finger on the trigger of the loaded gun.

He's so stupid it defies belief. I own that gun, a Glock 22. There is no Glock 40. (The Glock 22 shoots the .40 caliber round.)

And a semiauto like that the first thing one does is pop out the magazine, then cycle out the chambered round. The fact he didn't perform this elemental process as a (former) law enforcement officer is remarkable.

But he is from the government.

What? There's no .40 cal Glock? Do a google search on it, I guarantee you'll find tons of results.

It's the new popular choice because the 9mm is a bit 'played out,' this gun is powerful as hell--and all the rage today. Like I said, many who chose the 9mm, now are going with the .40 today.

Did you really compare your little 22 to this fine weapon?

And your comparison of the DEA agent, who puts his life on the line everyday--to freaking Plaxico Burress is not a good one. One of those guys made a mistake, put should've had the weapon regardless. The other guy is just a wanna be thug, who had no business having the weapon 'in da club' (YO!) They shouldn't be prosecuted the same.

The DEA agent was acting within the law when he did the gun demonstration, nor did he have intent to negligently fire off a round.

Buress, OTOH, knowingly brought a gun into a jurisdiction where it was not allowed without a permit, one which he could easily have gotten.

There are significant differences in the two scenarios which is why DEA genius was not charged with a crime.

Hes as much a danger as anyone else carrying a concealed, unlicensed handgun into a night club is.
