Just wondering if people think Bledsoe might be the answer. I personally don't think Bledsoe was all that great, but I think he might be good as a stop-gap.

To be honest, I was turned off on Bledsoe long before Brady came to the pats. I can even remember the turning point for me, way back in 1997 i think it was. A monday night game against the Broncos (in mid October I think), both teams were undefeated, i think we were like 5-0 and Broncos were 6-0. It was the first Pats game I'd ever been too and I had 2nd row seats at the Bronco's endzone at Mile high stadium.

I remember early in the game, Bledsoe had gotten us into the red zone and I could literally see the whites of his eyes. I don't want to say he was scared, but... he did not seem confident and seemed very intimidated. He then gets a little pressure on him and throws an interception. I think thats what they call Deer in the Headlights or something. Anyhow after that, I was put off on Bledsoe.

Getting back to my original question though, even though I don't feel Bledsoe could get us to the superbowl, I feel that he is better than Cassel and might be able to at least get us into the playoffs. I'm not so sure Cassel can do that. And thats not just because of our last game, I'd thought that even before. Lastly, I feel like Bledsoe could make our receivers feel useful, especially Moss.

Its all hypothetical of course, I highly doubt BB would ask Bledsoe to come back, but... I think Bledsoe might not be a bad idea until Brady gets better.

Bledsoe's strength also happens to be Moss's biggest strength-THE DEEP BALL.

If anything, with Drew's strong arm, he can just lob it up deep 2/3 of the time without having to worry about holding onto the ball too long. If anything, the double/triple coverages will leave another receiver open as well.

UMMM, please go read the other 100 threads about Bledsoe replacing Cassel. I don't mean to be an a**, but now you're just gonna stir up the Bledsoe bashers.

and for the record, Bledsoe in the 90's was alot better than Cassel, and no Bledsoe will never play for this team again. have a nice night

Thats fine, I've been a Bledsoe basher for 10 years now. I'm trying to look at it as who is better for the team. Right now, as much as I think Bledsoe stinks (don't get me wrong Bledsoe lovers, I appreciate everything he did for us), I still believe Bledsoe would be good to have over Cassel, and would keep our receivers playing 100%.

whether bledsoe will be better now or not why is assumed that every retired guy and free agent wants to come here and start. shouldnt bledsoe being interested also factor in ? or is it that when BB calls he should just drop whatever he is doing in retirement and come and play for us ? even troy aikman will be good for us but doesnt mean he wants to and can play anymore.

Just stop. Please.

These threads are painful, now lets get this straight.. you want to bring back a guy who has been two years out of football, two years away from the conditioning regimen and no knowledge of the current system.. there is a lot more to this position than just throwing it long..

Bledsoe right now is not better than Cassell..

Based on what?????????????????
Are you kidding??? You must be kidding. You're kidding, right?

For all we know Drew has not touched a football or run further than the mailbox in 2 years. Maybe he's been drinking beer and beating off for the laste 2 years! (Oh wait, that's me.)

When Drew was playing, yes he was much better than Cassel (drew is like 7th overall all time passing yards). But drew is not, and has said he does not want to play anymore. End of thread.

oh, I needed that laugh. You gotta figure the most Drew does nowadays is run his coffee co, and walk to the lake to go fishing. He's probably in better shape than me, but that's not really saying much

And god bless him (and you) for it! But that does not a Pats QB make.

I love that you're an early-AM poster, nashvillepatsfan.

I'm an all night poster. Working the night shift at the moment. I'm not sure what is worse. Being at work all night, or spending my whole night reading some of these crappy threads.

Oh man, it's a lose-lose proposition.

If you mean "right now" then no, obviously he was better when he was a starter simply because he played in college and he had exp points.

Personally I think we gave up too early on Jim Plunkett and now might be the time to make that mistake right. If not him, does anyone know what Babe Parilli is up to these days?

He was definitely better than Cassel. However, given the guy hasnt played in 3 years and hasnt been in our system for about 7, there's no reason to expect he would be useful to us. Good thought, but my opnion and thoughts tell me that, at least at this point, Cassel is a better option, although probably not the greatest

i agree with you; well said

Have you seen the main forum at the planet?

It has more sexual stuff than football talk so you don't know how good you have it here despite the jumping off the ledge threads

Just for the record, not that I think we should go get Drew, he was 3-3 as a starter in 2006 before being replaced by Romo and remained on the team all season. So at this point he has only been out for one season, 2 training camps and 3 weeks. I have seen 2 seasons and even 3 years.

I mentioned Drews name in a thread which I may have started or may have added to one of the 100s but the only reason to want this would be because of the story. It would be cool to see Drew replace the man who replaced him but there is more to worry about than cool and seeing as he has been out of the league for a season one would have to believe he is not the best option.

sorry for the rant had to get that off my chest

Father forgive them for they know not what they do....................
