Patriots quarterbacks threw 249 passes through the first eight games with ZERO interceptions. This is a remarkable statistic. Conversely, Pats defenders have intercepted opponents five times.

Even then, New England is just plus-3 in turnovers and minus-4 in sack differential (giving up 17, getting 13).

Unbelievable that the defense is unable to force any turnovers considering they usually have the lead and the opponents have had crappy offenses. Yes, you can tell me all about the three-man pass rush, but I think Bill made his thoughts clear a few days ago.

Between Fouts' tears I thought I heard him say that the next game would tie a record that was set in the 40's (9 games).

I'm sure that proves they were cheating somehow...dat warm Gatorade makes it harder to intercept passes.

The team has had trouble forcing turnovers for a few years now. This year they are ranked #20 in takeaways, last year #22, in 2014 #14.

The record is 9 games by the Cleveland Browns in the 60s. Well, next game against Seattle, I wouldn't bet my money on them matching or breaking the record...

Not only have they not thrown intereceptions, off the top of my head I can't think of a time in which the opposing defense failed to capitalize on a sure interception opportunity.

It won't be easy for sure.

1960 my friend. Just like your username. Except it was the 1960 Browns.

Probably fumbling more because of properly inflated balls. They're harder and more difficult to hold

Damn goodell for uncovering our operation

I'm waiting for the Hatriots to come with this line...except last year the Pats were pretty outstanding at holding onto the ball, so....

Here'a another one. Russell Wilson and Brady each have 44 yards rushing despite Brady playing half as many games....
THAT is a shocking stat, even more than the 0 picks. You can win a lot of bar bets using that piece of info, I bet

I mean we went as high as 10-0 last year, so this isn't really surprising.

Bets like that have to be approached properly, with just the right amount of questioning.

Brady has 44 yards rushing? I didn't know that. He must have climbed out of the cellar for QBs in rushing yards. I wonder who the next QB is in rushing yards? I wonder if he's close to Russell Wilson. What, he's nowhere near Wilson? Probably not but would you give me odds on that if we made a bet?

Well, interestingly, this year the Seahawks are ranked only 18th in INT / opponent's drives, so they haven't exactly been ball-hawking this year. And they actually rank slightly behind the Pats at overall Turn Overs per drive. (Meanwhile, Patriots QBs have already avoided interceptions against the Cardinals and Bengals, who rank 4th and 8th, respectively, in INT/drive.)

In fact, oddly enough, in 2014, the Seahawks' league-best defense was also only 18th in INT per drive, and 20th in overall TO/drive. Additionally, last year's Denver Super-Bowl-winning defense was surprisingly only 17th in both INT/drive and TO/drive.

Go figure.

It seems this year that the Patriots are more cautious on offense and defense. Offense seems reluctant to force balls into tight coverage or throw a 50/50 ball. In the past the defense has been burned to the point where a large lead has evaporated and a win is no longer a sure thing. It seems the defense is much more cautious in it's approach when we have a lead. We still take chances but it seems to me that it's done more when the opponent is on their side of the 50 yard line.
