I just got off of work and came to my folk's house for dinner. I was just getting on their computer when my mom mentioned she had heard a Patriots player from Louisiana was dead. I quickly got onto patriots.com to see that it was Hill.

What sickens me was that moment between hearing about it and seeing it was Hill. I honest to God was hoping it wasn't Kevin Faulk because he's important. I was willing to sacrifice Alexander who at that moment was the only other Louisiana player I could think of.

I absolutely hate taking this game so seriously that even for five seconds I was more concerned with our lineup than a human being's life.

I apologize to you Marquise. You deserve better. Rest in peace.

yeah..very wrong to even hope it was anyone else..Faulk or Alexander or Hill..no difference. All are good people who are good athletes. I would never wish it was someone instead of the actual person..everything happens for a reason. at least u got it out of your system and were honest

Don't be so hard on your self. Is part of being human. The same part that is more now understanding of the situation.

Come on, give the guy a break. The only reason we're concerned about Marquise and his family is because we're Patriot and NFL fans. I can point out a bunch of other deaths in the last few days that may have more significance for others because of the fields they are in, and meanwhile we're blissfully unaware of those deaths.

I have to disagree.
The OP was brutally honest with himself and coming clean in a Pats forum. What happened was a tragedy, and I in no way doubt CPG's heartache at the outcome. How many of us, upon hearing simply that a Patriot had died, would have that fraction of a second when we would think, oh no - not Brady! Not x,y, or z!
As much as we love the team and might have met so and so, we don't truly know them as people. We love them and the organization, but we know what we see on TV or from the stands.
Ultimately, a good man has died. We knew him primarily as a Patriot. His family and loved ones are the ones truly suffering tonight.
what you dont get is life is not about depth charts, and if your life is consumed with that you dont know what lfe is all about , admitting it and being honest doent make it rightand if you dont understand it , thats why your making exuses for him

Some people in this board can be to harsh and rush to judgment. I think Crazy Patriot Guy was honest about how he felt and said he felt bad about it.

If you can't understand that is just part of being human than that's on you not him.

It is not like he said thank god it wasn't Faulk see you.

I'd have to question the logic of making this thought process public.

What does the OP hope to achieve?

A clean conscience through public flogging by his forum peers - none of whom truly know him yet are willing to throw out insults in his direction?

All very odd and an unwelcome distraction on a sad day.

The people bashing on him aren't doing much better, he's a human being.

people like you make me wonder if reading this site is worth while, and who may i ask made you a moderator?get a life. but i think your incapable

So let me get this straight:

1. Crazy Pats Guy has an emotion.

2. He concludes that it is wrong.

3. He honestly communicates it to this board

4. He apologizes for it.

And now people want to condem him and strip him of Moderator status for having the emotion in the first place?

Somehow I don't think that Crazy Pats Guy is the person on this board who needs the most help.

why do you have the need to make a post about it? if he thought it, he should keep it to himself , by posting it he s getting what he wants that why he posted it cant you see that?

Excuses? No.
Compassion? Yes.

Today should be a day when we come together as Patriots fans, not attack one another.

You shouldn't be sick with yourself because you realized that you're priorities weren't were they should be and took the time to think about what was really important. The only reason you would be right in being upset with yourself would be if you maintained your original reaction after thinking about the situation.

A person's initial reactions to news like this isn't something they can control, from the sounds of it you quickly realized the error of your reaction and corrected it. You should not beat yourself up over something you didn't have control over, that doesn't do any good.

Those bashing Crazy Pats Guy for whatever reason need to take a look at themselves. He said he feels terrible and you go and kick him when he's down, that doesn't seem very compassionate to me. Using it as an excuse to complain about moderation on the forums is just sad.

While his post might not have been the wisest idea, I don't see the point in flogging a guy for caring too much about football because he posted a message trying to remind us not to care too much about football.

There are a lot of emotions running loose on the board right now. This thread isn't looking very productive; if the OP chose to lock it down I'd totally support that.

is this a place to let inner feelings out? i thought psychologists are for this is this dr. philpatfans.com ?

He admitted to himself that he didnt like his first response and owned up to it.
The thread probably wasnt necessary but if a person owns up to something I dont think he/she should be judged on it.

As Jesus said "He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone"

for those of you who would judge ask yourself this question honestly.

If you turned on your TV and the lead teaser on CNN was
"New England Patriot player found dead", how many of you would say "Please dont let it be Brady!!!!!"?? Even for a second...........

But that doesn't mean you have to post multiple times about you didn't like his post, despite the fact the second part of it explained himself.

Lay off.

Let's not turn this into what it isn't.

My heart aches for his baby and his family.

This is sad day at Pats Nation....There are alot of feelings going out here...We should come together and dealwith this loss....Dude realize what he thought was a mistake....He was man enough to admit to mistake...Are thoughts and prayer should go the Hill Family....
