I'll be honest: I wouldn't be comfortable if Brady...

I think it's more disturbing that her father still follows her everywhere and talks about her boobs..but maybe that's just me.

If a man is not talking about her boobs, he's not a real man.

okay so metaphorically, you would not be aware of whether he was studying film or picking his nose. Quick question; can you tell me what evidence there is that past QBs have been "studying film" and not on vacation during the bye in playoffs past? I realize that the media makes this seem abnormal, but where is our perspective on what is standard practice for QBs during the first round bye?

You're completely missing my point, but I really don't care to explain it further.

You're making this a big deal because it's Jessica Simpson.

Again, no. It wouldn't make a difference to me if he went by himself. I didn't even know he went with Simpson until this afternoon; all I heard was that he was in Cancun.

you didn't know he was with Jessica Simpson until just the other day?

even when she was at the game a few weeks ago and T.O. blamed the loss on her?

do you live under a rock?!

except as was pointed out before, he was in NYC with Giselle.
Oh, that's right!
No way to get access to films at home, huh?
Poor Tom can't afford the communication technology to e-mail game film. What do you think they use, those 90mm reels on a big white screen still?

No I get your point: in your infinite football wisdom you think it's either disconcerting or abnormal, or both, for a QB on a team that dropped off slightly towards the end of the season to take a vacation going into the first round bye. Not really that complicated a point.

My point is that you lack the perspective or NFL experience to make such a judgment, as do we all.

I didn't know he was in fu**ing Cancun with her.

I have no idea and neither do you, the only reason I brought it up was because Brady hinted that he had gotten a lot of rest and taken a break, he may have studied film, and may not have. Maybe Romo rented out the media room in the hotel he was at during the time he was there.

What the hell does NFL experience have to do with it? Let's put it another way: I'd be uncomfortable if Romo was in Cancun the week he was supposed to be taking the Bar exam. Do I have to be a lawyer to know that he's wasting time that could be better spent preparing?

It's his apparent lack of concentration that bothers me, not the vacation, which I see as a symptom of a bigger problem.

...went to Cancun during a bye week before a playoff game, especially if his team had stunk for the last month or so.

It's this kind of stuff that makes me think that Romo will never be a great QB.

Buy a map.

So by your logic, if taking a vacation has been standard practice for every QB ever during the bye, then we have been stuck with a league full of QBs who lack concentration.

Way to keep up.

I guarantee that if this was 2002, and we lost to Oakland in the playoffs because Brady made several crucial mistakes, and then he proceeded to lead a team that looks like crap for the last month of the following season, and then took a vacation before the first playoff game, people'd be singing a different tune.

I think that maybe Romo should have anticipated that this would be a big story. That's the only thing I would reproach him for. He can do whatever he wants during his week off, and I absolutely think he did nothing wrong in this case, but maybe because of the previous Jessica Simpson hysteria, he should have known that this would be a big deal for some people.

Cause now if he loses and plays badly, it's going to look even worse. It's unfair, but hey, that's the media and we know fans can be irrational.

nice cop out.

It's not a cop out, because that's not what I'm saying. I'm talking specifically about Romo, not anyone else. He looks like a kid on a playground half the time, and I don't mean that in a good way. He seems to be way too immature to lead his team to a title, and if he were the QB of the New England Patriots, he'd get skewered here.

people would have no idea what he did unless the paparazzi was following him around. And this is Romo's second year starting, not his first.

I'll agree with that. Rome said the same thing today also.
