First of all, I was a doubting Thomas about beating the Broncos yesterday - should this thread be moved into the religion forum for that?
If he ever wants to, Belichick would have an interesting book on how he gets inside Peyton's head, but this thread is not about that QB that sputters in the playoffs.
It's about John Elway.
The late George Allen would be smiling about how John Elway has built the Broncos around Peyton. Throw a lot of veteran players and not even think about salary cap jail - instant SB contender. Like Washington in the 70's they are contending, but not champions.
Denver was one of the biggest SB losers ever last season, and now they got beaten badly again by the Pats. They have maybe a three year window for SB or bust into a 6-10 team post Peyton. So far it's great for the Broncos front office and the fan base, but no trophy. I don't blame John Elway for what he's trying to do, but so far it looks like they are a little short.
