trade up and get Mark Sanchez. I can see him now forming into a huge bust and with Belichick making his life hell with his complicated defense.

Come on J-E-S-T

I can remember the draft lastt year when they cheered Gholston and then boo'ed all the way through the Pats slot - and further boo'd when Mayo was selected

What a bunch of doofuses

I clearly remember, although most want to forget and no one will admit it, that before the draft all the local pundits were complaining how the Patriots were drafting to late to get Gholston. He was the next LT; the Patriots should trade up to get him, etc. How soon we forget...

Rumor going around Jetsinsider they are going to make a play for Jason Campbell if the Redskins go after Sanchez

I would love it even more if they would draft Freeman, cause i think he's an even bigger bust.

I've never read BB come out and say he didn't want Gholston (no reason why he would or wouldn't). I'm sure he might have gotten some insight from Vrabel (who is often back at OSU) on Gholston, but who knows if they wouldn't have taken him with the next pick if he had been there.

I think it's too early to call the guy a bust though. He's a bust in the sense that he was a completely wasted big paycheck last year, but doesn't mean he can't turn out to be a great player. Some guys come out and play well right away and fizzle off (Addai and Maroney, and I actually like Maroney still), and some guys do the opposite. We'll see.

I dont think he's a bust, but he just has a lot of learning to do. Clemens is not much of a mentor though. If the Jets don't go WR at 17 they are looking at even more of a horrible season.

do you guys think sanchez has the arm strength to get the ball through the cold december wind in the meadowlands? i am skeptical. i wouldnt mind the jets taking sanchez, but if he turns out to be a great QB, we have to face him 2 times per season

take JOSH FREEMAN and are pressured to get him on the field in his rookie season. Although I agree that he has a strong arm, I think he can be fooled into throwing INTs with the complex defenses of the NFL. Could easily have the most trouble transitioning into the NFL quickly and would suffer from the New York media's scrutiny. Next thing you know, the guy is being replaced by a veteran.

???????????????

Your memory is faulty, sir. Go back and read old threads. There were a few who liked Gholston, but not many. Certainly not as you describe.

The main debate was Rivers vs Mayo.

The Dartmouth you are from must be Hanover, NH, not Dartmouth, MA.

Yes, this seems quite possible. Also, the jets could go after Quinn if Cleveland drafts a quarterback. As of now, it would take a serious trade up to get any of the top three quarterbacks.

Also, Washington or Cleveland would likely accept a 2010 #1.

"The doubt about Sanchez arm strength is overblown.. Is it as strong as Staffords.. No..
But he can make all the throws" - Pat Kirwin (I summed up what he said earlier this week)

I would be concerned if the Jets got Campbell. The coaches in Washington failed this young man miserably and in a stable environment, he could really blossom.

In my opinion, Freeman is the weakest 1st round QB I have seen in a long time. If I was him, I would want to go to a team with a strong running game.
