I saw the Patriots play at Nickerson and Fenway. I lived in Foxboro for 20 years and got tickets given to me by Rookies for games (mostly pre-season). I have lived in NY since 2006 - yeah it is a woman and yes she is worth it. In 2006-2007, I watched Troy Brown steal back a playoff win for the Pats (SD) only to lose the following week to Goober Sr. after a horrible PI call gave him the game.
I loved the 2007 season but had to live with the laughter of 18-1. Here. In 2008, I was in a sports bar for the opener, at a small table, small TV watching the Pats play KC. To the right of me, was seven young Jets fans all wearing Jets Favre jerseys. After the fifth time Brady's ACL/MCL tear was shown on the BIG (Jets) TV, to great cheers from these Farve wearing putz, I walked up to the table and told them - the next time I heard someone cheer an injury I was going to put one of them in the hospital. Fortunately, three of them were girls and the rest kept their mouths shut. Because I was a little drunk.
I say this not to brag about how great a fan I am. I am one of many here.
But I am so angry at Kraft's spineless display today, this is what I want to happen.
Brady asks for his release. I think he might be able to demand it. Belichick retires. Team returns to mediocrity and 10,000 seats sold like I remember. All this before Bob K dies so he can reflect on his legacy.
And Brady signs with the Jets and hoists a Lombardi with Revis. I would laugh. That is how angry I am.
