How do we think Brady's going to do?

He has a few things to work on:

1) He needs to talk more. He goes too long without saying anything even when his partner expects him to. Probably him deferring too much to his partner. Somebody must have told him colour commentator should not be overshadowing the play by play guy

2) He stumbled a lot with words. Called wrong positions and just stopped or paused halfway through speaking way too often

3) He was clearly nervous

4) Little to no insights and not really critical of anybody. Lots of clichés

He was ok with a couple things:

1) Highlighting that you need to pay attention to some of the better D players. He called them out right before they made big plays a few times

2) His voice and delivery was pretty good when not pausing

This is just something for Brady to do until a desperate team puts up the bat signal for Brady to rescue them...and he WILL!

He's not bad, kind of vanilla, as he did with football, he'll get better.

If we as his hardcore fan base are saying "not bad" then the fans of those other 31 teams are saying "sucked"...

I don't see why he needs a stake in the Raiders. Especially considering the limitations it will put on him as a broadcaster.

It's an ego thing. Started out a fan, became the GOAT, now wants to be an owner.

Lots of clichés

It's as if the man spent the last 20 years mostly hanging around coaches and other athletes...

I get it, Gisele shared her plastic surgeon with him and taught him how to dress up in fancy clothes, but at heart he's a hardcore jock.

IMO he is outside his comfort zone, and that's not likely to change any time soon if ever.

Fox signed him in May 2022 so he's had over two years to prepare for this day, and this is what he delivered.

I just don't see it getting much better.

From the Daily Mail article linked above:
'Tom Brady ain't stuttered this much since he told Gisele he got one more year in him,' one user posted referring to the former signal caller's decision to un-retire for one more season in the NFL, which came months before his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bundchen.
Ouch!

And:
'Tom Brady finally found something he’s terrible at #NFLonFox,' another posted, while one added, 'Fun day for Tony Romo. He's finally better than Tom Brady at something.'

From the Daily Mail link:

Ouch!

And:
Interesting.

I rememeber Montana joined one of the pre-game teams when he was done, and I remember he was awful. Be funny if he followed Joe there too.

Hmm. I now look a Brady's performance differently. If a Collinsworth or Romo says a player is regressing, or is critical of a particular players performance no one thinks anything about it. Both of them are not in anyone's conversation of being the best of their position let alone one of the goats. If Brady or Montana say something critical it would be headline news. Both Brady and Montana's status as the best ever almost precludes them from being able of critical comentary. such a shame because I would love for Brady to just speak his mind.

I didn't tune in but it would be must see TV if he ran with no filter.

It was his first game. Doesn’t matter when he signed his contract.

Both my wife and myself said it didn't sound like Brady's voice in the commentary. First game and was obviously nervous. Waiting for the fist pump with Mike Pereira was embarrassing.

Eh, the guy didn’t see him. No big deal.

I actually kind of wonder if knowing him so well might affect me enjoying the games that he calls. It’s like, I know this guy who’s an actor and he’s been in some stuff and I can’t watch him without thinking, “oh there’s X acting.” It’s weird.
