How concerned are you about Gronk?

Right now, today.. Would you trade JAG and Gronk to Cleveland for BOTH their first round pics?

There would need to be more return than that. At least one player and a day 2-3 pick, or a 1 the next year.

yeah the Pats had a very easy schedule this year. Historically easy. They even got a super easy playoff game vs the Texans. New Englands offense is so much better when Gronk is in the line up.

Gronk is HOF tight end already.. the guy is one of the most devastating NFL offensive players ever.

Since the 2011 season, the only one where he played 16 games.

He's started (read: games he wasn't 'rested' or whatever. This doesn't count games where he's started and played 10 plays): 48 games out of a possible 80. He's played in 5 out of a possible 10 playoff games in that time.

He can't be devastating if he doesn't play.

I don't think there's a high or low trade value with Gronkowski, teams will line up to trade for him, because he's available for short money. It might be smart though to hold off on trading though. Until we get a TE in the draft, or sign Bennett or something. You could always try to showcase him before the trade deadline too, but there's a 50% chance he's going to get hurt, so that might not be wise.

You can get something for him, something good. If you're set at the position, deal him. It's not like he's going to play 16 games a year for the next 10 years.

Well I'll say this the only way Gronk gets a possible Patriot extension after his current contract is IF he finishes the next Two Seasons. What are the odds? I ain't taking any Bets.
What if he takes a hometown discount to play out his career with Tom?

Let's face it, he is the best Tight End to ever play the game, but I am getting concerned about his injuries that he keeps suffering every year... how much longer do you see him play at a high level? Do you think the Pats keep him around after his contract expires?
Here's the contract: Rob Gronkowski
This coming year is cheap, then Gronk's cost rises for the next two years and he's gonna have to be rewritten most likely. Also, I think he probably has to take a long time to recover from this injury and I'm not sure he'll ever be able to smash n dash like before. So, I think he comes back this coming year when he is healthy, works out the kinks and gets back to form if he can, then either rewrites or gets cut at the start of 2018. Of course, maybe he crushes everyone and everything and then the Pats have a decision to make, but it's hard to see him getting 11MM under any circumstances due to the injury risk. This is the sad part of this sport.

In case you haven't noticed, Gronk looks pretty good lately. It's unfortunate he needed the tweak right now, but we knew he had a back issue when drafted.

Hs issues with his back have been minimal, it's the other injuries and they are related to having 2-3 hacking at him because he's the best TE ever.

He's 27 years old. We should concentrate on other positions and be thankful that, despite injuries our 27 year old TE is the greatest ever and is only 27.

Give that away for a lottery ticket and I'd have to say you're nuts.

Based on what? Do you think he's been in traction the last few weeks?

I think his next contract will be influenced by this upcoming season and weather or not he can play 16 games this season plus playoffs.

I imagine what it would be like to have Matt Cassel at QB because we needed to get some value for Brady before he was completely washed up. Same thing. We'll just draft the next greatest TE of all time. No problem.

I really want the Cleveland 12th pick so we can pick up a Hightower replacement or even a tight end since Bennett is pretty much gone and we need that 2nd TE to take some of the load off Gronk.

There's never been a pick who could play a game in the NFL.

If Gronkowski, after a minor back procedure, became available people here would be screaming sign the beast.

We've got two first round linebackers on the team now. #6 and #19. We're assuming we could get better value in a TE and LB than the player we have?

I'm assuming we tag Hightower this year and next year he is gone, none of the current Lbs on our team can replace that void once Hightower is gone, so we need to draft a beast this year so he can learn under Hightower for a year and take over.

It's hard to draft good tight ends these days, after Gronk we haven't seen anyone close to his level, except the Bama tight end who looks very promising, he seems to be the complete package and who can easily replace Bennett.

Expecting a rookie to replace any proven player is setting yourself up for disappointment. I don't think people here honestly assess what a draft pick is. High one is a good chance of being a starter, though maybe not on your team, better than average chance of being great compared to a low pick and a chance of never quite making the transition.

A proven player is a proven player. Mingo was drafted #6.

Based on, I haven't see him play any football so I'm not sure how excellent he's going to be when he does return. Why? You seen him play since then or something?
