Again this shows the Patriots made the right chioce in Jackson over Holmes.
Holmes arrested twice and still not signed. Jackson is ready to win the #2 spot over Caldwell. Plus I got my Jackson jeresy in the mail today. Jackson is a team guy and not self-centered type.

Well Maroney hasn't signed yet either.

Though he has managed to stay out of Jail!

You're comparing apples to oranges. First round picks are always the last to sign.

Stop. the. fanboysm.

Homes not signed yet? And Jackson is?

The Steelers are doomed.

I think that the Pats made the right decision, but not because Holmes hasn't signed; he wouldn't have been signed here either. Holmes was a bad choice because of character issues that Jackson doesn't seem to have.

Not saying saying the Steelers are doomed? But the reason Homes (as you spell it) is not signed he wants 1st round money but having 2 arrest. The point is Pats fans should be happy that Jackson has no off the field problems unlike Holmes (my spelling) and that Jackson is signed and ready for camp.

The reason Holmes has not signed is he wants first round money with 2 arrest already. On the Steelers board those fans are already worried he might hold out.

In fairness to Holmes, he hasn't signed because he's been busy doing depositions, hearings, and other court appearances. Get off the hoodlum's back!!!!

How did we make the right CHOICE when we didn't even have a choice. Holmes was drafted in the first round, Jackson in the second. It would have been interesting to see who we would have chose if Holmes was still available.

Are you serious Clark? Do you think that maybe he is asking first round money because he was drafted in the first freakin round? You also probably don't understand that the first round kind of works in order. The guys drafted ahead need to get signed first before it's decided what the lower picks are going to get. I'm not saying that I would rather have Holmes but I am saying that your reasoning is seriously flawed.

Do you remember the the Pats had the 21st pick ahead of Pittsburgh and took Maroney and it has said in the papers they thought about Jackson then instead took Maroney. Do you not agree as of right now Jackson looks to be the better investment?

The point being with his 2 arrest he can't get 1st round money like he wants. If you don't understand that your reasoning is flawed. Seems you would be happy Jackson is signed instead of defending a woman beater.

But the fact is. Jackson was taken 36th overall. Though Jackson was the WR I wanted over any other, EVERY draft publication had Holmes rated as the top receiver, Jackson was rated anywhere from 2-6 in WR ratings. Am I glad we got him instead of Holmes, hell yeah, but state the facts. Holmes is a 1st round WR and Jackson is a 2nd rounder. Beyond that, is all conjecture, and will be played out on the field. By the way, Maroney and Branch may be holdouts, ya think Steeler fans are posting that on their message boards ??

Well according to PFT, "Santurdio" is close to signing with the Steelers.

I'm not defending a woman beater. He was a first round pick therefore he's going to sign for first round money, end of discussion.

Wow, I'm nearly speechless. Perhaps other than the fact that you like Jackson and he's already signed you could explain to us how exactly we should come to the conclusion as to who we think was the better investment.

Not really. They have identical stats. Now, if Jackson is the first one to get a catch I may revise this opinion.

I don't think there's much of a sense of urgency to get Holmes signed quickly. He's almost certainly not going to be starting early in the season (rookie receivers typically have a pretty steep learning curve in the NFL) and the Steelers have other receivers they can plug in at the #3 spot if they need to. And Reid will likely be handling most of the special teams duties, although Holmes will likely be back there as well.
