No, he hasn't practiced for the portion of the practice where the media is present which is about 15 minutes. Don't let Belichik fool you. A cornerback with a wrist injury not playing? gimme a break.
Never say Never.

Over the last few seasons our CB's have been as soft as any.

As always you're completely insane. You hope our best corner doesn't play because the WRs we're about to face are too good for him? As if Chad Scott or Hank Poteat will do better?? What the hell is wrong with your point of view, NEM? You never make any sense.

Too much time wandering in the desert sun, nibbling on peyote buds.

That must be it. I've never seen a poster hammer on a player that is so obviously the best we have simply because of a physical attribute. As if Chad Scott is a better corner just because he's taller. As if Hank Poteat is better because he's got an inch and a half or two inches on Hobbs. Hell, I bet Troy's got an inch on Hobbs, why not start HIM at corner against the Bengals???

Um, which leg? Little things like tackling, redirecting, jamming will all be affected by a wrist injury depending on the severity. Not to give any credence to dear doddering 'It's Ron Borges' negativity (living proof hemorrhoids have a mind of their own), but Hobbs being "questionable" for a wrist injury is a very accurate designation. The fact is, we don't know, BB does play games with the opposition by limiting media access to injured players, we'll know for sure Sumday and not before.

Of course, I'm don't see any need to consider this the Patriots' obituary, unlike some with eagle-eyed vision. :singing: "Go ask NEM, when he's ten foot tall..." :singing:

Woonsocket Call, reports New England Patriots CB Ellis Hobbs (wrist) did not practice Friday, Sept. 29, and he is unlikely to play in Week 4.

I hate to do it, but for my pool, I have to pick Cincy... oh the pain!

I hope you lose

Wow, I really hope he's good to go. Wether he plays or not, the decoy this creates is very little IMO. No use sugar coating anything. we wont stop that secondary with our coverage, we'll stop it with our pass rush.

He is far from being our best cover huy. Spend some time watching. And inside, he cant match the receivers at all. As usual, I am right again...just takes a little time for the rest to see what I see right away. He is an excellent nickel back that is given the oppoirtunity to react to the ball...but as a straight cover guy, he is not that good.

As usual, you present your opinion as fact when it's off base as though stating something as fact makes it so. It doesn't. You've been blowing hot air on this topic for months now. You were wrong when you started it, and you're still wrong now.

Ellis Hobbs has covered better than anyone on this team so far this season, and for the last 7 or 8 weeks of last season. I have watched every single game.

He's been playing over the #1 WR most of the time in each game this season, so explain to me how he's a nickle back to ANYONE but you, least of all to the coaching staff that has won 3 Superbowls.

Nem...who is the best cover guy on the team?

Ty Law I guess? Otis Smith? Someone else that NO LONGER PLAYS HERE??

Don't confront NEM with logic, it'll fry his brain. He's decided Hobbs is no good because he's 'short' and there's no turning him away from it even in the face of insurmoutable real world fact (as in, it's not my opinion, it's coaching staff that's been lining him up against #1 WRs).

But we're used to NEM thinking he's smarter than the coaching staff, so that's not new.

I'm talking current players, Michael Haynes is not walking throuhg that door.

This conversation was inevitable. It was apparent at the BEGINNING OF TRAINING CAMP that our defensive backfield was suspect, even with the alleged depth (of average talent, mind you) that had been assembled. Now, as the injuries start to mount, we're once again back to duct tape and baling wire at cornerback and safety. We're just one or two injuries away from the same problem at linebacker. How can this not reflect poorly on Belipioli?

I hope he doesnt play, at least not start. Cincy WR's will eat him up alive... He's too short, as is Asante and it's beginning to show this season.

Nut? Where's that broken record you had?

I thought the guy only had a wrist injury? If so he surely could play. it's a decoy.

Bingo! He's going to play!

I agree with BF80, if Hoobs isnt our best coverman then hes tied for the best. I dont care if he is 5'1 and they just throw the ball up on fade routes all game. I want Hobbs out there on TJ or CJ.
