Ok so call me stupid but what is the official explanation for the "deflator" text? People keep bringing it up as their argument

Not sure. But I can tell it doesn't mean 2 psi. That I am sure about.

Could it be it really was about losing weight? I could see that especially when its in relation to his job. A lot of nicknames are job related.

Does this sound far fetched?

I still want to know who screwed up on the football that measured 16 PSI.

What the hell gauge did they use? One to check Bridgestones?

No ****! I have 2 sons and occasionally find myself pumping up balls and unless you have an electric pump it's a freakin pain in the ass. We're they baiting the Patriots? I find it funny that no one has questioned the 16 psi especially because it was against the NY Jets!

Jesus that thought never crossed my mind. Boy do I feel dumb.

So SOMEONE inflate the balls to 16psi thinking that someone was going to take the balls, measure them and deflate them before they hit the field.

That is sinister.

I think they call that a sting.

I have really stayed away from all threads regarding Tom Brady's issue because I really just became too annoyed and turned my mind to only football related news, like TC and injuries, etc. However, the more that has come out today, the more I feel good things for Brady's case. The NFL is run by a bunch of morons and they've done a great job of screwing up so much that I think there is enough for Berman to rule in Brady's favor, even if he ultimately believes there was some wrongdoing by Tom. That's just my gut feeling on this one.

One thing that I haven't seen discussed a whole lot is that the "Deflator" text came in May, but the discussions about 16 PSI, and saying 'The refs screwed us' came during the Jets game in the Fall. So if the Patriots did have some grand conspiracy to deflate footballs, they were doing a terrible job of it given that they played with a significantly over-inflated ball against the Jets!

If the Deflator text had come after the Jets game, then it might make more sense and you could argue there is something there. But it didn't. And Brady's appeal description of the football preparation process in inclement weather is by far the most likely explanation for the content of all of those texts -- much more likely that "you were stressed about getting them done" refers to preparing footballs using manual breaking-in process than it does to letting the air out of them. Wells just looked for the most damning interpretation of the texts regardless of how likely it was.

(By the way, this is my first post on here; reading this forum has been great the past couple months!)
