That has to be a factor for candidates looking at the current Dolphins vacancy and next year's Jete vacancy.
Agreed: the Jets won't be a Factor for a very very very very very very very long time. Sorry for the repetitiveness.

I am not sure if Harbaugh is like Belichick and other head coaches when they get older and start to lose their edge. Harbaugh made a lot of stupid decisions this year. Maybe it was just the situation, but he reminded me a lot Belichick in his final couple of years with the Patriots.
John is a full 10 years younger I hope he ain't there yet. His Bother Jim on the other hand seems a little lost: his one line pressers and stares are brutal.

Logical choice.

NY still may need a QB, but at least Harbaugh is away from Jackson.

This feels like another Coughlin-like hire. Maybe it'll work. I'm less impressed by Dart than some people.

Both he and his brother are in their early 60's. That's right on the edge of age being a significant factor, generally speaking. I'm 67 and I can't imagine living that lifestyle right now. But then again, I don't have a staff of 20 taking care of details for me. Maybe I should consider that.

I'm not as impressed with his QB skills as others but I do think the kid is a playmaker and a leader, which isn't something to just dismiss.

His pocket presence, awareness, reads etc will get better in time, and I've seen him make a number of impressive throws in his short span so I wouldn't say him becoming an "elite" someday is out of the realm of possibility.

Age isn't the only factor. Length of time in the league is a bigger factor. As pointed out, he was once one of the most innovative coaches in the league, but the rest of the league has caught up.

I mean back in the early 2000s, Belichick was the most innovative and then everyone copied him. Back then, he was able to revise his game and adapt so that other coaches didn't pass him by. But that passion seemed to have waned in his later days. Same could have happened to Harbaugh.

Since Harbaugh was rumored to go to Miami, I am glad to see him not in the AFC East.

That said, if I was the Giants, I would have rather gone for Kevin Stefanski. They probably need an offensive minded head coach to coach the recklessness out of Dart.
mike mcdaniels could be great for Giants.

He won't be. A lot of it is between the ears. Thats where Maye excels.

I think you're sleeping on J Dart: I think He'll be better than Ward and Sanders.
