Gronk's next record - most yards in a season by a TE?

What is the record for receiving yards by a TE? Gonzo had 1258 one year. Sharpe best was about 1100 yards. Gates never topped 1200. I think it is Kellen Winslow Sr. with 1,290. Gronk currently has 1088 and only needs 203 yards to beat that in three games. Definitely doable.

He can't beat the receptions record. I know that one is held by Tony Gonzalez at 102. Gronk currently has 71. To get 31 receptions in 3 games is tough for even Welker.

Jimmy Graham has 13 more yards than Gronk, but his production has dropped since he had a four game stretch in late Sept/early Oct of 100 yard plus games. Both players are on pace to break Winslow's record. Either guy at this point could do it.

You are absolutely right. Being 13 yards behind the current season's TE yards leader means that the record is 100% out of reach. I'm starting to think that there is a midly ******ed programmer who has created several bots that post contanstly (one might even be a moderator.). These "posters" need an upate to project some sort of realistic awareness of the current NFL.

Yeah, it is pretty ridiculous for a fan on a player's team message board to post that a player having the best year of a TE ever might break another record that is clearly in reach. I just wish he realised before he posted how stupid of an idea that is when another TE has a whopping 13 more yards than he does.

He can match the all time record Moss set, at 23, he only needs like 3 the next 2 games each and then 2 in the finale. Because the next three teams suck, and Brady has now lost it and refuses to throw to anyone else in the redzone its almost expected at this point.
