Broncos sore after physical game

Thirteen regulars sat out of practice on Wednesday, including several who don’t appear to have specific injury concerns coming out of last Sunday’s loss to the Patriots. That list does not include safety T.J. Ward, however. Ward is in the concussion protocol after playing the entire game against New England and punctuating the loss with an unnecessary roughness penalty for a hit on wide receiver Julian Edelman.

“[He] came in after the game [and] wasn’t feeling good,” Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said of Ward, via the team’s website. “He’s in protocol, doing good. So he’s in the testing phase right now.”

Tight ends A.J. Derby and Virgil Green are also in the concussion protocol and linebacker Brandon Marshall remains out with a hamstring injury. Defensive end Derek Wolfe left the New England game with a neck injury and didn’t practice, although Kubiak said he believes Wolfe has “a good chance” of playing on Sunday night.

Wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders; cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Chris Harris; linebacker Von Miller; center Matt Paradis and left tackle Russell Okung were also spectators on Wednesday.

Concussion keeps T.J. Ward out of practice

nice!. I would like to see the breakdown of the -ve plays also e.g the derby drop, denver's 2nd drive and the coverage or lack of it on the mccourty hit

Man, Denver's OL sucks. Just watch Schofield (79, RG) on that play - it's like he's trying to not block anyone. Between him and Paradis' sad attempt at blocking Flowers, that's two guys who between them made zero meaningful contact with anyone over the course of the play. Garcia got eaten for breakfast by Van Noy, and he somehow comes out of this looking okay by comparison because he managed to make an obstacle of himself, even if it was for maybe a second and his guy ended up getting to the QB pretty easily anyway Okung didn't even hold his block for very long, but at least that was something you can call a block.

And I don't say that to take anything away from the Pats - that's exactly what a solid DL would do to a bunch of JAGs.

I think #61 is asking for a flag because someone pulled him down (from the face mask?) Lol

Don't forget Nink. despite age and injury, he is still the most clutch player on D. a number of times when things looked rough, he has come up with a sack or a big tackle.

Ninks a gamer. Knows when to ratchet it up and when to low-ride

Vincent Valentine has really shown a ton of progress this season and is now starting to exert his will. I was scratching my head after the Pats drafted him but he’s been a solid contributor as the third DT.

I wish I had the time and patience to go back to the draft threads to re-post all the doom-and-gloomers posts ****ting on the Valentine pick.

For example

114) DT Hassan Ridgeway - Malcom Brown's linemate at Texas, and the 3-Tech to replace predicted
bust Dom Easily. Willie Henry would also have been an acceptable answer.
Slow, weak, lazy Fat Vinnie Valentine at 96? Bill's worst 3rd-rounder ever, and that's saying a lot.

Fat Vinnie Valentine: a grotesquely horrible, useless pick.

Fact: Fat Vinnie & Joke Brisket = the worst consecutive picks in the history of the NEP.

Thanks again, "genius"(snicker).

If Bill were looking for DTs at 96, then the Obvious choices should've been Hassan Ridgeway, Willie Henry, Andrew Billings & Sheldon Day, in that order. DE Charles Tapper was also available.

@FourierSeries tagged you for a laugh

Because the time the opposing team's offense spent getting those 500yd is time the NE offense isn't on the field, making the game closer than it'd be if the defense had given up fewer yards.

No points awarded for time the offense spends on the field. Points per drive is all that really matters (except of course if defense gets tired from too much time on field).

The prevent defense is of course designed to swap yards for time. Happy to give them 8 yards a successful play but not 28 or worse.

Captain Stone questioning the team and its decisions? Not surprising. According to him, we're worse than the Browns.

In Roberts defense I think he has been injured.

Concussion?

Hamstring. He was good to go though, came off injury report.

Its just something he suffered with even in his best games - coverage (especially zone) in passing game.
He is .. and hopefully will be .. a weapon in special situations but with KVN's emergence in all phases of the game (+ the green dot) he might see less of the field .. depending on opponent of course.

I love Roberts and have him as huge binkie but its exactly what Van Noy brought to the table that enables Patricia to call this wild formations and can better disguise plays ..
