Gostkowski issue...cause?

Just throwing this up in the air.

Gost has been practicing, and in games, kicking to a specific spot, before the end-zone, so the receiving team has to return it.

In his past, and most kickers, just practice to kick it through the uprights, most times, as hard as they can, sometimes little chip shots.

Is there a possibility that him practicing to be a punter on kickoffs has thrown his game off?

You don't think all kickers practice punting and all punters practice field goal kicking on almost a daily basis?

What do you think they do all day when the rest of the team is practicing?

There's only so many field goals you can kick in a day before you get bored and start punting the ball for something to do.

I understand they practice direction, but NOT specific distances. He's trying to land the ball within a 5 yard spot. That's for punters, not kickers. And yes, maybe they get "bored" and try to land a ball inside of a barrel, but how much of his practice concentrates on this vs the rest of kickers. Maybe it's just a coincidence his game went down after he started "kicking" to the goal-line.

A kicker's goal is distance and direction, not where the ball lands, other than special plays like on-sides etc.
