I think it's important to remember how important that outside receiver is to our offense. Healthy Lafell, while not putting up gigantic numbers, forced defenses to be honest to the deep routes. That is so important with the crossing routes underneath with our receiving backs, small receivers and tight ends.
We can get stagnant very quickly if the the box gets tightened on us, which makes hogan and Mitchell so important.
Last year we paid the price with Lafell hurt, and really 2011-14, with ocho and others failing in the role.
The other side, it also protects gronk from compromising plays, as he was far too often the only legit option out there. Rarely did he find himself with room to operate and protect himself. With a versatile receiver with deep potential, they won't be able to lock in gronk or Bennett the same way, and should be able to keep gronk closer to the line.
If Hogan stays healthy, as with our other weapons, it will create a flurry of possibilities, to an extent we haven't had in quite some time. Possibly stronger than '14 and '11, Which should be scary for the rest of the league.
