I actually like Cris Collinsworth and don't find him to be anything close to a Pats hater.
Jon Gruden gets a lot of hate but I don't mind listening to him.

And Simms is pretty good and Nantz is ok. I don't mind this selection.

Some of you whiners deserve to hear Dierdorf for 3 of the longest hours you will ever have to listen to his dribble.

Be lucky we don't have him on Saturday Night.

I don't mind the vast majority of NFL announcers, unlike many people.. I like Nantz, Simms, Collinsworth, Al Michaels, Mike Tirico and crew, Greg Gumbel, Brennaman and Aikman. Joe Buck is tolerable when he at least puts effort into his calls of big plays and doesn't sound like a zombie.

The guy I cannot stand is Dan Dierdorf. My ears want to put him into a car and send him off a cliff, and my brain isn't nearly that nice. Fortunately, he will not be announcing any more NE games this year.

In 2007, that douchebag wanted GODell to suspend Bill. His article pissed off Mr. Kraft.

I hate Cris "I love young dumb blonde girls" Collinsworth.

Gus Johnson is so over the top. I hate his voice in Madden and I'm glad I don't have to hear it on live broadcasts.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Al Michaels. His voice is amazing. I don't know what it is, but it just has this presence about it. I don't even care what he actually says.

I don't mind Cris Collinsworth. He occasionally has interesting thing to say, but he often reiterates himself. Many times he echoes the prerecorded lines he uses in the Madden series, which I know by heart by now.

Jim Nantz and Phil Simms are neither good nor bad. I barely notice them. I don't really hate any announcer and I don't find any real anti-Patriot bias in any announcer, just lack of knowledge. Simms/Nantz seem to know the most about the Patriots while Cris Collinsworth seems to know all the interesting bits of history.

Overall though, I prefer SNF on NBC. I like how they present the players in street clothes in the little cut scenes, the production, it's all very nice, sharp and presentable, almost like a play with characters. CBS's production could use some polish.

Fox's is okay. Was better when they put more effort into production, which they seem to improve for the playoffs.

I really enjoy the special Cleatus spots they make. (The Fox NFL robot). It was amusing when the Terminator TV series was airing - it fought a Terminator.

Also, you just can't beat the FOX on NFL theme song. No other song embodies the NFL better. Here it is with Cleatus doing what looks like a kickoff return against other robots:

I have come to the conclusion that it is me, but (except for Gil and Gino, who I don't get to listen to very often anyway) I can't tolerate any announcers for any amount of time, particularly if the Pats are doing poorly. It's like I cannot stand for someone to be pointing out loudly in my own family room what the Pats are doing wrong or how the opponent is doing awesome! GRRR. I don't want to hear from Phil Simms (or anyone else for that matter) that Tebow made a terrific fabulous throw or that the Pats safety took a really bad angle (again!). Simms and Nance are less offensive than others (agree with others that Dierdork is the worst), but truthfully, nobody really floats my boat unless they are a complete Pats homer, like me.

I often feel the announcers want the other team to win, but again, that's probably just my Pats bias (except for that Monday Night Game where Tony Korndog and his co-horts were OPENLY rooting for the Pats opponent (I think it was Baltimore? but now I can't even remember, LOL [but I remember they were rooting against my Pats, d%#*!@t!!])).

You can have the Fox Robot....I will take Faith Hill doing the Sunday Night Football song over and over again, especially in those leather pants :rocker:,she is worth watching even knowing that in a few minutes you will have to listen to Dungy again.

I actually like Jim Nantz and Phil Simms. They always do the biggest games of the week. And they call most Patriot games every season.

I won't be able to mute the crowd

I actually don't mind them. I think Phil Sims can be a bit biast but that's expected.

I don't mind any of the CBS announcers. It's Joe Buck on Fox that always gets on my nerves

Have mercy. I might be in the minority, I can't stand these two. They are not as insufferable as that other group, but they always say stuff that make steam come out of my ears.

Actually they do annoy me sometimes but I think there the best in the business.. I wouldnt want any other tandem. I have grown a little tired of them this year.. but I dont really appreciate anyone else. Collinsworth is good but he is such a douche. And Tiriko is fine.. np wiht him.. but I could take him or leave him. And Gruden has grown old on me.. his cowboy giddy up attitude has become tiring. And Jaws annoys me now because Gruden changed him. I bring up the monday night guys because thats the only other crew that is even half way decent.

buck and the x cowboy are boring to me. CBS imo all the way.. again I dont know what thats saying.

I like Nantz. Plus these two are MUCH better than a lot of others out there.

Joe Fbuck's glee when the Pats lose is palpable all the way through my TV set, and I knew we were in trouble when he replaced Brenneman for the jints' game in Foxborough.
I hope he & Aikman nevah, evah work another Pats game again.

I had the Broncos radio broadcast on my phone on Sunday. They are wonderful to listen to. If Gil retired today, I'd replace him with the Broncos' pbp guy.

That's quite a compliment, but it's true. Denver's play-by-play guy, Dave Logan, is one of the best in the business. There was a thread featuring him recently on the Broncos version of this site: OrangeMane.com

Dave Logan : Like him or not? - The Orange Mane - a Denver Broncos Fan Community

He's very underrated. He really is the modern voice of the Broncos, and he's a well-respected 3-sport athlete and coach in the Denver area.

If, like many of the folks in this thread, you can't stand Nantz and Phil "Captain Obvious" Simms, try this if you have TuneIn Radio and a TIVO:

  1. use TuneIn Radio to find a Broncos stream - you may have to hunt around for a stream that works, just type in "Denver Broncos" - KSVP (Artesia, NM) has worked the last 2 weeks
  2. use the TIVO pause/play button to synch up the TV to the Internet radio feed.

If you haven't heard Dave Logan and the color guy Brian Griese (who is much better in that role than he was as Denver's starter) give it a try on Saturday if you're looking for a different flavor to the game.

Here's a sampling of his style from the 2nd Half and OT against the Steelers. After Denver beats New England in Overtime on Saturday, I'll update this thread with a new link featuring Dave Logan's call!
