George Malik Pickens Jr

For anyone who watched the NFC North Hard Knocks series, you're talking about a guy who Mike Tomlin literally had to hug on the sideline and try and get him back into the game after he had a ball go off his hands, and that was apparently an issue with him all year long whenever things got tough, if he dropped a pass, got outplayed, etc. No thanks.

Steelers haven't had a good QB since Ben R: so like him I would be pissed too. Steelers are in the market for a QB.

Does Vrabel have any tape on how good he is at hugs? What's his grip strength? What's his arm circumference? All things we need to know now.

Pats haters are going to hate: like so many other WR's George Pickens should have been ours but the GOAT HC thought otherwise.

That's three. A multi pass. Not to be confused with ...

It's tough...the problem is that they're probably going to face some additional adversity before things really get better. And if God forbid they hit a spell where they lose a bunch of games and things are a little ugly, he's already shown he won't be a guy who is willing to ride it out. I just feel like it's too big of a risk, especially when they're trying so hard to change the culture under this new staff.
Yeah, I hear that. I think it would come down to Vrabel. If he thinks he can basically tell Pickens to shut up and be a man, and if Pickens can appreciate getting to play with a QB like Drake Maye then, perhaps it works out. But those are big "if's" and my idea of trading a 4th for him would be contingent on both of them.

If the Steelers are willing to trade him, that must mean they are confident they can find his replacement.

I do think Pickens is one of those talents that pops on the screen/field, but everything I've heard about him otherwise has been negative. I just don't think he would fit into what Vrabel is trying to accomplish, as mentioned by other posters. Thumbs down

He's super talented and we have the least talent in the NFL on our roster overall and at that position specifically so I can't write it off. However, I feel like a player like that you have to treat as a ticking time bomb so you only want to pay a high price for him if you see your team being good enough to really benefit from him in the short term. As much as I'm hoping for an influx of talent this offseason and an improved team, I still think our "window" to really compete will be a couple of years off, so I don't want to pay a high price for a headcase of a player who might wear out his welcome by then.

If he were a FA and it was just money I'd say go for it but I don't want to pay a "double cost" for him of a high pick and then an extension.

Sounds like what happened with Polk but Mayo wasn't as good at talking him back up.

I just find it hard to believe that Vrabel is going to be the same kind of softy as Tomlin and be a buddy to all his players...I don't think it's his style. I also find it hard to believe he won't get locker room leaders that hold players accountable and punch them in the mouth when they need it. I suppose I have a more favorable opinion of Vrabel then some here. Guys like Randy Moss and Corey Dillon seemed to do ok when there was strong leadership with coaching and players.

Vrabel fixed a near suicidal AJ Brown.
I don’t see a issue here.

This team will not be SB competitive for a minimum of 3-5 years.
Acquiring talented players who potentially can grow and develop ocer next 3-5 years is a reasonable strategy. Not sure Pickens has the personality to develop into a reliable fixture

We can honestly say that about 80 percent of the receivers in college and the NFL.

If they could transplant Edelman's brain into his skull then yes. If not, then HELLS NO. He's a loser who could never be trusted or depended on.

Randy Moss had no issues either when we got him.

He is no Randy Moss.

(also, too: When the Pats picked up Moss they had an EXTREMELY strong core of players to make sure he kept the right attitude.. Now? Not so much.)

The people ****ting on Deebo Samuel and others, are the same ones willing to give up a 2nd round pick for this

Also, he's in a contract year. Sometimes you gotta move on from your binkys, kids.

As a Georgia Bulldog fan who lives near Athens, and has followed Pickens since HS…trust me when I say:

You do NOT want him on this team.

Kid has ALWAYS been immature, malcontent, and cares only about himself.

Just a ten cent brain.
