It's snowing here in New England today and yesterday was the 25th anniversay of The famous Mark Henderson snowplow Game and I started thinking about great snow games in Patriots History. My favorite takes Me back to my first year as a Season Ticket Holder and all the way back to Harvard Stadium in 1970 against The Minnesota Vikings. It snowed The saturday before the game and neither The Patriots or Harvard shoveled the Stadium. We arrived to find about a foot of snow on our seats. There were about 20000 people there and The Patriots were awful with Joe kapp at Quarterback and it was the last Home Game of the season. The Patriots fell behind Fran Tarkenton and The Vikings so the fans began pelting the Vikings with snowballs. The Stadium Announcer requested that the fans refrain from throwing snowballs so of course the volume increased. It was a complete circus and even The Patriots especially Joe Kapp became a target too!It was a wild day !

I haven't been posting much since I've been traveling too much on business.I'm fine and thanks for Your kind thoughts.

The game in Buffalo in 2000. This was before their FieldTurf was installed, so it was on their old carpet. There wasn't a ton of accumulation, but the snow was wet so it turned that carpet into an ice rink. Snow fell throughout the entire game and it was windy as hell, so the snow was blowing sideways into the players' faces. It was difficult to see the action on TV under those conditions. The game on the field was like keystone cops: players sliding every which way, field goals kicked into the long-snappers' rear ends. The game went overtime and Vinatieri was able to keep his footing to nail the short winner.

ETA: Here's one writeup of the game with a funny pic of Buffalo's place kicker

Regards,
Chris

If you gotta exclude the Snow Bowl, gotta agree with jman924 that the Miami home game in 04 was my favorite. I was lucky enough to be at both games and they were two of the livelier games I have been to in Foxboro. Even with half the stadium buried in snow in the Miami game.

The Miami game in '03 was the first game I went to, and I don't think it could have been any better. So that gets the nod for my favorite snow game.

Both came from 04...v. Miami (Bruuuuuuuuuu) and Pats v Colts in playoffs (see my quote)

It snowed in Tampa on the weekend before Christmas 1989. The luckless Bucs of the time couldn't catch a break - we're always horrible in wintery conditions, and they came south to visit us along with the Steelers! The coke machines even froze up... I don't think the snow survived on the ground at the stadium, though. However, it's definitely a memorable weekend for anybody living in the Tampa area at the time - snow in Tampa, it's the end of the freakin' world! :bricks:
