Good stuff, thanks!

"Duron Harmon – Harmon could be a surprise cut. He’s a serviceable backup, but he lacks the anticipatory skills to be a real difference-maker on the backend."

What??! Is this a joke?

wow, most shocking thing I read over his take on all 87 guys

Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, Harmon isn't anticipatory....my ass!

But otherwise a great read.

Rex Burkhead – Everyone wants to find ways to get rid of Burkhead, but he’s an all-around solid back. He’s an underrated route runner.

Lazar must visit this board.

Appreciate the article as it gives some insight to players we don't hear much about. Seems we have plenty of decent options at every position, except tight end
Brian Hoyer – Interesting times ahead for the Pats top backup. Hoyer makes good decisions and is an accurate passer. He’s also BFFs with Brady, but there’s no ceiling with him as your backup.
Wow, must be better than I thought if this guy has no ceiling? To me that means he has unlimited potential.

Maybe it should have been "His ceiling is the floor" :)

This is why I’ve always set that Lazar needs to stick with the “what” when writing these articles. What is the personnel on offense and defense and what is the personnel they’re facing? He needs to stay away from the why and the analysis of certain players and their jobs. That’s where his lack of knowledge and not actually having played the game for any substantial amount of time begins to shine through.

************.

Leads all DBs in INTs the last 2 years and he's not a playmaker..as a deep safety

I swear sometimes Lazar lives in his own little world..

He's new to this stuff, but otherwise works very hard. He probably regrets having written that without thinking first.

I would hope so. Stick with the what, Evan. Do not try to go into the why.

So how many of the 87 will end up on other teams, 10?

He's just a boy

There is some talent to be lost. Price of doing business and “nice problem to have”, but other teams are going to gobble up some guys in a few weeks.

Hoping BB can move a couple for a low picks.

Wow it is hard to get to 53 with this list. I don't recall it ever being this difficult.

DE may not have the level of top-line talent of some other positions, but it's going to be a really tough cutdown. IMO Bennett, Winovich, Wise, Simon, Calhoun, Rivers and maybe even Harris seem like they belong on a roster. How many do the Pats keep?

On the other end of the spectrum, swing tackle is paper-thin. I would anticipate a trade/pickup, except the whole league is thin on OTs.

I have to say that overall I appreciated the insights and the hard work and found some commentary interesting about some potential practice squad candidates that I don’t hear about elsewhere.

Just the Harmon comment stuck out to me.

Are we ready to move on from Wise or Rivers? Or still serviceable on rookie deals? They are in danger of being labelled JAGs and/or busts
