ESPN mentioned Johnny Manziel 113 times last night

The pre-season might as well be a reality show for Johny Football

Just another reason to like NFL network better then espn. I personally think the coverage is better and I don't half to hear Mel Kiper all night.

They literally had a Manziel-cam, one camera devoted to following the guy's every reaction and response every time he fell down the draft.

EVERYONE was tipped to the picks. The pick was being tweeted out by La Conforta and others at least 30 seconds and some times two minutes before the commish made his announcement. All the draft picks were looking at their phones to see the 'real' announcement via twitter.
Often a pick would come in and the next team would be on the clock a couple minutes before the announcement (a couple minutes may not sound like much but here it is a lifetime). So the team has to let it be known who they are drafting so everyone else can start making decisions/trades/etc. There's no way to keep a lid on such info, so it will leak out on social media.

I realize I could have found out draft picks sooner by obsessively following Twitter, but I really had no problem just watching the TV feeds and finding out the picks 60 seconds later than others.

For those of us who were resigned to having to LISTEN to ESPN last night, Manziel was a real kiler. The commentators (who were otherwise excellent--for a change) started interviewing him about 5 minutes before our pick at 29. Unlike all the other interviews, which were cut about 1 minute before the announced next pick so the prediction expert cd name his choices for the coming pick, the Manziel interview went on long past the Patriot pick--very leisurely, thus effectively destroying almost all of the Patriots (best NFL team in 21st century) coverage.

Incidentally, the coverage we did get was very critical of the pick, saying things like Easley was 85 on so and so's big board, and that's all we needed was "another injured tackle."

FWIW, on the broadcast that I was watching, Ray Lewis spoke very highly of Easley. Nobody else seemed to have much to say.
