Esiason on D&C: Jets roster has surpassed Pats

Well Esiason said it to start with, is he a troll?

And I said that Brady was NOT inferior to Sanchez or Sanchize however you like to spell it.

Well, he is a Jet.

Just like Marshall Faulk, Sharpe and a host of others can't seem to be objective about the Patriots.

They still had the number 1 defense at the end of the day. They are more creative then our team on the defensive side of the ball.

Errrr, no.

You're equating aggression with creativity.

Schottenhemier vs. our guy (whoever that is or supposedly is)?

Waht do you think? Versatile offense that exploits weaknesses vs. Maroney off tackle, overthrow to Moss, Welker for the 8 yards, punt on 4th and 2?

Or Maroney off tackle, Faulk draw for 3, faulk draw for 3, punt.

I mean, to me, it's a no brainer. We could pull plays out of a hat and have more success.

Well, I agree here, but you're talking apples and oranges. This was O'Brien's first time calling plays. He needs to improve. I would have preferred bringing Weis back, but now that he's coming back, and now that the offense is already installed, we just need better players, and then we can judge him.

The Jets are versatile? How so? Because they run and pass? I consider the Jets a very limited offense, and if you look at the stats, the Patriots' O runs circles around them.

Take the pom poms off!I rather have the jets defense over ours right now

It took Schottenheimer the entire season to realize he had a great running game and allowing Sanchez to throw the ball more than 20 times a game means more turnovers. I think Bill O'Brien would have been smart enough to realize that far sooner.

Hey emoney, BB didnt exactly have a great year coaching. He maded some questionable decisions.

Some of this is ridiculous. Yes, of course the Jets are iffy, rookie QB and all.

But Shonn Greene vs. Maroney?

I liked Greene at Iowa and Maroney has not produced as hoped, but still we're talking a first year guy running behind a line built for running. Thomas Jones was let go a few times, and he became a stud behind that line. Reminds me of the Broncos line. Greene is a powerful runner, but he can only run straight ahead. On any move to the outside, his 4.7 40 speed doesn't cut it. I'd call him a useful back on the order of a younger Sammy Morris, but not anything more than that. No, I do not count Shonn Greene as a plus in this weigh in. I may prefer him to Maroney, but not to the pre-fumble Maroney who was running hard and running people over. Unfortunately, that Maroney was a rare thing.

Revis vs. Bodden?

Faneca vs. Mankins? OK, that's close

I take Mankins over the guy longer in the tooth than our Neal.

Light vs. Ferguson?? Well??

Light, outside of his injury, played really well this year (except against the Ravens). Honestly, I can't judge Ferguson. I thought he was a questionable pick coming out of college, and I haven't kept up. He may very well be better than Light especially because Light is getting on in age. Heck, we might want to compare Ferguson to Vollmer instead. Who would you prefer?

How about Harris vs. the wrecked knee (hopefully he comes back) Mayo?

I take last year's Mayo over this year's Harris. An MCL tear is not a wrecked knee. It's not an ACL.

Cotchery vs. Aiken?

I mean no offense, but come on...you can still be a Pats fan if you admit that they are better at a few positions.

Cotchery versus Aiken? What about Welker, Moss and Edelman?

I take the Patriots' WR core over the Jets core anyday.

The problem with our receiving corps is tha it has become so depending on Welker.I hope we draft another WR with some speed that can get downfield.

questioned by fans and mediots, most of them were correct.

Then you would be wrong
O'Brien is still calling draw plays and 3rd and long shorties to Welker as we speak
He ain't learned sh$t

3rd and long draw play is common accross the NFL. Do you realize how HARD it is to complete a 3rd and long play when the defense's main goal is to stop you from doing just that. The underneath stuff is LEFT OPEN.

Maybe O'Brien knows a little more about football than you?

The Jets OL is better than the Pats right now.

NE has question marks at C, RG and RT. I like Vollmer at LT. Maybe Light can move to RT but hes been around 9 years.

I like the Jets TE Kellen better than Watson as an receiving option.

Maroney sucks.

NE with Revis, Bodden, Merriweather and Sanders is as formidable as when Law was a Pat.

Rubbish

How many times was the draw called at the end of the year and failed?
How many times did that nitwit call a 3rd and long shortie underneath to Welker and come up short?

Did you not watch the games this year?
Pom Pom city and in BB we trust UBER AllES
Jesus wept

You do realize that O'Brien took a page out of the old Charlie Weis playbook with the FB draw on 3rd and long. No one loved the FB draw on third down more than Charlie.

Since neither team is going to play another game with their current rosters, what's the point? The Jets can only sign a free agent if Braylon Edwards (or some other UFA leaves), and will pick 29th in the first round. By the time pick #58 rolls around, the Patriots will have already picked four guys, barring trades. I can appreciate Boomer's point WRT the 2009 rosters, but anyone who thinks that the Jets' roster will automatically be better in 2010 than the Patriots should probably stay away from Las Vegas.

Now that is funny. Anyone who has watched Boomer on CBS or listened to his weekly appearances on EEI over the past decade would know that no one in the national media has said more positive things about the Pats, BB, Tom Brady, etc.

This is true, anyone that says different just isn't paying attention.
